yes, and in addition: the automation is flaky. sometimes it records automation, sometimes it doesn't. sometimes it shows what is recorded, sometimes it doesn't. so if it does not show, you don't know that it actually recorded, just does not show the shapes. other times it actually did not record. so you never know what you got and when you will or won't get it. come on already! what version are we on? and automation continues to be flaky as hell.

I have all the latest patches etc....and have the synth problems too. Seems the wrong synth loads using the S1 plugs...If I want strings, I may have to click on the drum synth..go figure. a question on automation.... With S8.5 if I wanted to clear ALL automation envelopes, I could select "all" and then select "cut" automation. With X1 that doesn't seem to work, and often it will not clear automation even though the automation envelope appears to be deleted. I have to "clear" automation several times to get it to work. Anyone experiencing this? Jeff

I installed all patches and still have No2 above (snap in PRV pleasing itself) as well as the sesrious bugs I've posted elsewhere (non-destructive fade in/out on audio clips sometimes muting the audio within the curve, Process/Audio/Gain acting on the left part of the clip's audio and muting the right part). Yesterday I removed and reinstalled Sonar X1 and performed tests as I implemented X1a, X1b, and I stopped before I installed QF 246 as that's what gives me my two awful audio bugs - well new work doesn't suffer from them now, but all previous projects still suffer. A feeble step forward really. I've reported my two bugs and had one question back for one and then silence and no reply regarding the second. Sonar X1 is far from fixed and reliable as far as I'm concerned.

If you want things fixed, like I'm sure we all do, it would be helpful if the developers are aware of the problems.

I have same problem with insert synth. If you rescan folders it fixes it (for a while) Also have probs with automation. Does not record smoothly, just very big sudden changes in level.

Process/Audio/Gain acting on the left part of the clip's audio and muting the right part). I had this happen last week - I need to make it a point to report that one formally. I really like the Gain tool and have a shortcut key to get to it quickly.

I have also had these same issues... I have also had waveforms that have blank spaces in the middle even though audio can clearly be heard. Almost every session has Midi notes that are lined up to a bar and as you zoom in they aren't, then they are. These are programming issues, not hardware or 3rd party plugs. The fact that someone always chimes in with "well mine works perfectly" or "I don't seem to be having these problems" gets really old fast. "Have you alerted support?" is another tired response that gets pushed out. Cake is well aware of these issues and they have not been fixed. 8.5.3 works fine, why doesn't X1 version 4 (v5 if you count the FX update)? This of course will be followed by the obligatory; "well you can always go back to 8.5.3". My response is I have paid for X1 and an update and I have a ton of time invested in the learning curve. I am not a beta tester and I just think I deserve better than this.

RE: Pictures - Right-Click on clip > Associated Audio Files > Recompute Pictures. 2. RE: MIDI - Are you quantizing your MIDI after you input it? That could be a cause of timing issues, it's practically impossible to record completely 'in time' aligned to the grid.
