Getting V-control for ipad working with sonar
maybe someone here can help me .... I purchased this..... http://blog.cakewalk.com/new-v-control-pro-ipad-controller-for-sonar/ I got the v window to work and it recognizes my computer. I could see sonar and work with sonar in the v window view on the IPAD which is awesome. really really cool actually But the faders don't work or anything in V-control It's weird. Why can it see sonar in the v window and I can use it that way ..... But not the faders or anything else. I've been trouble shooting this for a few weeks now. The v control is reconized and checked in midi devices in and outs. the thing says it can see my pc -- in and outs all look good ... sigh .... btw -- i also have the ac 7 core working - flawlessly - but .... this looks like its better ... IF i can get it to work

Did you check upstairs Mooch? I seem to remember reading something about this in the X1 forum.

Your not the only person Mooch, Jerry or Joakes had this very same problem. And I'm not sure if he solved it. I've just set my free version up (I did a clean install a few weeks ago) took 5 seconds, it all seems to work. You seem to have done everything, you've installed Ney-Fi, you have checked your computers name in the settings on your I-Pad, you have clicked your DAW as Sonar and in the Midi in-out in Sonar, you have checked V-Control??? Let me know if you have done all this, and if you have then there seems to some issue going on because as I sau your not the only person with this problem. Ben

Ive done all that and iPad can see my computer and sonar can be controlled in the v- window ... Which is cool ..... But no faders or any thing else works just the v window. Mackie mode is set in and out to v control .... And it will just say mackie connecting ..... I should mention I have ac7 core working no problems .... Although I know it doesn't use the ni fi ..... Just saying I know bonjour is installed.... And my daw has fire wall off... I don't know what else to trouble shoot...thanks Ben

No resolution from me, the bloody thing doesn't work and the Neyrinck boys 'n' girls seem to have lost interest The problem is getting Ney-Fi to be recognised on the iPad. The Mackie just reports "Connecting"....... And yes I've done everything suggested by the Neyrinck website. Cheers, Jerry

I was trying to helping Mooch with this on the Software forum thread. He does seem to have everything installed correctly. Check to make sure your Firewall is not blocking the Ney-Fi application. The application does work, so there is some hope here. But I should point out that I have it working with Sonar-8.5 (maybe makes a difference) and running under Win-7 64-bit. Are others having problems all running X1? I should also add that I am using the free version of V-Control.

Hey everybody I got it going. I went to the v control web site and downloaded an earlier version 1.1 of ni fi Then v control app informs me that I have the wrong version and to. Use the 1.5 version Then I had a hard Ike getting a clean install of the 1.5 version ... After the 3rd time it finally let me install it ..... And then boom .... Lights like a Christmas tree ... Working I did read something on their web site about installing and reinstalling ..... Maybe that was it ... Not even how or why I got it going ... But thatss what I did and now it works ...how do I get those faders to read the bus... I work more with the bus side of the console than the track side

Ok this is perplexing and I am lost, Jerry is running W7 and your running Vista, I'm saying this because I was hoping it was something to do with operating systems. The next question to ask is what Ipad do you both have and is it fully updated to IOS5.1, it has nothing to do with X1 because I am running X1. There is only thing I can suggest is what I would do in this situation, and that is a clean install and then methodicly go through each installation process to see where the fault is. Other than that do a backup of your Ipad and reset the Ipad. I wish there was more I could do for you both, if none of this is palatable, I would be asking for my money back. I am really sorry Ben
