What is one expecting when double clicking the PC header? Hi John: Double-clicking the PC header causes SONAR to crash for a good number of forum members. I can't see any good reason for intentionally doing this, but some users discovered it and posted that it's a way to get X1 to crash everytime. And it does, for me. I reckon that a user can double-click on this position by mistake and end up causing X1 to crash, so it is something that probably should be addressed by Cake.

vintagevibe thomasabarnes cowboydan The problems you see in the forums every day. You read the forum ,dont you? All right, hotshot. The problems I read in the forum everyday don't all consist of claims about bugs. Many are user error problems and problems encountered because of unfamiliarity with using the program, beside the many system related problems.. Now, I'm wodering. Do you read the forums? The OP is correct. There are many posts about bugs on these forums. Your rudeness is uncalled for. How dare anyone say anything negative about Sonar! After all it is perfect and Cakewalk is perfect and anyone saying otherwise is the enemy. I've been on the forum since it was a newsgroup and it's really sad to see what it has become. So? Someone comes on with a vague comment about where the bakers are and wonders why he is getting the kind of reaction he is getting. If he came in with what he was having an issue with he might have got a better reaction---don't you think? Instead we are seeing the start of yet another b***ch session about vague things.... Sheeesh.

I double clicked the area between the preset name and + button. It's all crash. Not a showstopper. Unless you do it.

Cowboydan, Your question is very broad. The simple answer to your question for me is, yes, I have heard from Cake lately. Tech support has contacted med twice within the last two weeks. That doesn't help you one bit. Maybe it will move things along quicker if you just list a few specific examples or even threads. I know i don't read EVERY thread posted. I went back three pages and sorting through which ones were specifically X1D bug threads based on the thread titles alone is difficult. Even this thread title gives no clue as to what it's actually about. As for the PC double-click thing, I am reasonably sure at least one Cake staff member has posted they are aware and working on a fix.

Yeah. That can be something else that one... I suspect that doubleclicking the header may cause it to go into a kind of loop.

vintagevibe: We will just have to agree to disagree. Let's leave it at that? OK? I can retort, then you can reply and this could get ugly. In my mind, if you make a post implying that a program is in such a bad state that repairs are overdue, it seems logical to list what specific areas need the repairing. I never said Cakewalk is perfect or that X1 is perfect and can't be improved upon, but some of the pictures painted concerning X1's state is just bang out of order. And in my opinion, the OP's 1st post is bang out of order without clarity. Now, if you don't agree, let us just agree to disagree? I'm not looking for a fight, just sensibleness.

I was trying to make a point about it. I also posted in the thread about it saying simply "don't do that". Yes its a bug and I'm sure CW will in time fix it. But in the meantime let us all take a pledge not to double click on the PC header until it is fixed. Then we can double click all we want.

And, I for one don't want Cakewalk to fix the double-click crash of death. I never crash. It's boring. I've got nothing to troubleshoot. At least let me crash it like I mean it once in a while. There it goes "click... click", boom. Hehehe..., love it! One more time..., "click... click". Crash baby crash!!! "Click... click", yea it works every time.

They are most likely working on X1e. And if Blip is correct - it may possibly be the last update if X2 is coming this fall or winter. X2 in my opinion, if I'm going to upgrade will have to be a very big upgrade that adds lots of new features and functions, instruments and effects. And my guess is that won't happen in 6-8 months unless they decide to include Z3ta +2 and Expanded into the new Producer version. It just makes more sense to me for them to keep on improving X1 and selling modules to make up for the yearly upgrade cycle.
