Has anyone heard from Cake lately ? (Post completely missunderstood, Withdrawn)
Has anyone heard from Cake about all the problems since the x1d update? Almost every day there is something wrong. We see everyone writing about it and a few brave souls trying to help others out of the problems , but WHERE IS CAKE with some of the repairs ? Not even an update. Withdrawn!

e.g., dragging midi fx, and double-clicking the pc header, are two that spring to mind

My guess is that X2 is in early beta now and only critical fixes will be applied to X1 from here on. There could be one final fix release for X1, but I wouldn't count on it. Most fixes will be rolled into X2. CW's past history has been to only work on one version at a time. Consequently, the final fix release for each previous version has historically been 8-10 months prior to the subsequent major release, although the product cycle appears to be longer now.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Just an idle thought here, when a member with 20,000 odd posts asks a member with ummm 27 posts for clarification about a problem, a snarky response may not be the best way to endear oneself to the community at large. Now I am really mad - "snarky" is not recognized by the spell checker - that must be Cakes fault too Cheers Grif (Should really not be allowed near computers or people before noon)

With 20,000 some odd posts you would believe that he has read at least 40,000 posts beforehand. Therefore should know what the problems are that members are writing about. Even the bugs in x1d. Grif, send a memo over "snarky"to cake. Maybe by X2 you can get it fixed.

FYI, forums are meant for people having issues. Most issues - not all - but most, are user/system related. The people here on the forums are just a small collection of Cakewalk users who happen to not mind helping others with their issues. The vast majority of Cakewalk users are not online complaining because everything is running smooth and they are busy recording and mixing. I too have some issues with X1d and read here daily to see if someone has found a work around or can provided a fix. I've found that when I have a problem either someone here or a call to tech support will straighten it out. If not, then see Bitflippers post above. Welcome to the wonderful world of unstable software. Mike

See this is where I smell a troll...someone comes on and is very vague and claims everything is awful and the bakers are MIA. When in fact the bakers have been all over the forum and X1d has seem to have gone pretty well. Is SOnar perfect? no, but pretty darn good. This is where some bub comes in and starts a war on how we mistreat complaints. I'm goin' just go back to completing project after project and i hope i get better at my craft.

Welcome to the wonderful world of unstable software. Mike Thanks Mike It seems when you ask a simple question on the forum you step on a lot of people's hearts or ego's as the case may be. The only reason I started this thread is because I to have issues with X1d not working well sometimes and have also sent the fault messages to Cake. After that you only get the message that the issue was received and never hear about it again. I posted this thread to see how many other people were having the same thought. As far as Bitflippers thread a company has to make money to stay in business and that is understandable. It would be nice if the company would read their own forum and maybe give the people who posted these problems a heads up on what they are looking into . Communication seems to be the best way to go. Now that I have reached my 30 + posts on the forum I think I'll get back to music making before someong gets mad about what I am writing. Danny

Danny, What we are all saying is that that the Cake staff are on the forums a good deal. I've been on since 2003, so I know. There still are some bugs, so fill out the forms and call support. Share it with the forum and encourage others to do the same in regards to any problems. THAT is the most effective route! The way you wrote your post opened you up to ridicule because it was a)accusatory that everyone had the same problems ...and b) it was WRONG in terms of the staff being on the forums.

May I ask again? What specific problems are you referring to? I know of the 2 pwal listed and they are bugs, but those two don't paint the dismal picture your first post suggests as the state of X1D.

Neither one is bad in and of itself yet when a vague statement is posted that implies X1 is buggy it can be expected members here will take offense to it. If a poster has a problem and lays it out well the response will be fast and helpful. You only need to read a few threads to understand that point. In the end your rudeness has not endeared you to the forum so far.
