I do not get why some people so negative about "collab". I would assume you would listen of what the other musician is capable of before agreeing of trying to put something together... If it does not work it does not work. But if you find the right person, magic stuff happens.

I agree totally.

I guess the issue for me with BandLab at the moment, is although it's easy to privately collaborate once you've found people to collaborate with, finding those people is not as easy.

The kind of things I'd like to see is being able to make it clear that you're available for collaboration and to clearly specify the genre(s) you're interested in.

Some variation on the tried and tested "Musicians Available/Wanted" type adverts would be useful.

But, If I wanted to do a collaboration then I would certainly consider trying BandLab.

On that point, I would not consider it even for a moment.

Every track posted on Bandlab was so bad, untalented, and mislabeled genre that it just reinforced my pessimistic viewpoint about musicians in the past 30 years.

I've posted several songs/tracks on BandLab. My latest was posted the other morning, https://www.bandlab.com/irelevant , shortly before leaving hospital.
It's a morning sketch made on an iPad, quickly uploaded via BandLab's app.

I find the song hosting of BL very convenient, in particular the song revision feature.
I might mention that on the Windows side I use the Opera browser with BL without any problems,
there are options to Chrome that work well.

OS:Win7x64 SP1 CPU:i5/8GB/SSD DAWs : CbB, FLS, SO2, (Reaper) etc. To much Gear, not enough wires.
My Music : BandLab  https://www.bandlab.com/irelevant BandCamp : https://irelevant.bandcamp.com

I can agree with you on Genres part. Completely unrelated stuff should categorized more properly.  But about the talent.. Dude I am not young, but you are getting old :)
Bandlab is like an "open mike" and of course, far not every piece of music there is a masterpiece, but there are some very talanted people putting up their tunes in different  genres.
