Have you posted or do you plan to make songs publicly available on Bandlab?

Now that BandLab and Sonar/CBB are one, I am wondering if you feel inclined to put your music on BandLab Social Network.
If not, do you plan to make your music available on the BandLab platform now or in the future?

Checkout my new song: Playing on YouTube: EUPHORIA.

Probably not, since YouTube still begets the largest audience.
But, If I wanted to do a collaboration then I would certainly consider trying BandLab.

Cakewalk by Bandlab, Cubase, RME Babyface Pro, Intel i7 3770K @3.5Ghz, Asus P8Z77-VPro/Thunderbolt, 32GB DDR3 RAM, GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 250 GB OS SSD, 2TB HDD samples, Win 10 Pro 64 bit, backed up by Macrium Reflect, Novation Impulse 61 Midi Key Controller, Tannoy Active Near Field Monitors, Guitars by Vantage, Gibson, Yamaki and Ovation.

I'm not sure I see the ability of that site for getting comments on songs, like the songs forums here.

Actually was thinking about it for a while...
Platform looks fun, and there are some bright kids (and older kids) there, but what turns me off is that people sticking their stuff in wrong genres and it gets mixed up and wild at times. Hip Hop songs in Bluez.....Electronica in R&B categories for example and many others in such manner. I am not a huge fan of  censoring stuff, but some things just need to be organized (moderated) better.  And on that note, maybe add a few more "Genres" categories for instance "Punk" "Alternative", "Ethnic", "Fusion" and a few other major ones :)  so tracks that correspond to those categories will go there.

I guess, to me it is important to keep genres separated.

I was waiting to see what the new version of this forum is like, hopefully with it's own songs forum like now, only better. From what I've seen of "Cakewalk on the lab", especially recently, I'm not even remotely interested in participating in that sort of environment. I'm not a big fan of moderation/censorship as a rule, but I am surprised that they have left that up tbh .

I'm exactly the opposite. I like the way the one here works in that respect. Just lump it all in together. Sometimes it's good to be exposed to things outside of your comfort zone. Over the years I've heard some fine songs by some very talented people that I probably wouldn't have if it had all been categorized. I mean, who listens to country music on purpose, right?

Well, there are many (MANY!) approaches that I have seen where you have a "TIMELINE" strip with everything new that comes in, Multiple  genre tagged music that would come up in the search, "The best of all genres" just to give an example.

But in my opinion, if one goes for "specific" genre it is expected that music there would be kind of inline with the genre. I doubt that many Heavy Metal fans would sit and joyfully listen to Korean love songs or an 80 year old Folk music lover would sit and listen to Gansta Rap with tears in his eyes (I might be actually right about the tears)

P.S. I can listen to anything (including Korean love songs), as long as they are good :) But I do not believe total anarchy in organizing music is a good idea.

I posted something trying to find a female for a collaboration. Took it down because it was kind of slow.

(BTW - still looking for a female for some aggressive vocals (not necessarily screaming/growling) if anyone know someone who could be interested)

    No.
    1) In order to access much of the content on the BandLab website you MUST use the Chrome browser.  I have no desire to use Chrome, Google already knows too much about me.

    2) My music is already posted at three sites:  my personal website, SoundClick and SoundCloud.

Not ruled out the possibility of collab'ing but somehow I have't. It hasn't lured me!

It could be as simple as a short instructional video to make it easy or it
could be have't been drawn to it yet to forfill a need.

    -------------------------------------------------------
Magic: when you feel inspired to create which in turn inspires more creation.

And the corollary: if magic happens inspiration might flog it to death with numerous retakes.

Ugh. Yeah, I put my song up there in late April, and it's been "processing" it ever since. I "check back later" every few weeks, and even hit the button they say to hit if it's taking too long.

I tried. Thanks for attempting to check it out. Maybe I'll try uploading it again.

Oh good heavens. You're right, bapu. That has to be it. I use a stripped-down build of Firefox called Waterfox.

I mean, really? I'll buy that the fancy browser-based DAW only works in Chrome, but just uploading an audio file and a background image? That would be like coding your DAW so that it only works with one brand of interface. You'd hardly be able to call it a pro tool....oh wait....

Well, switch me from "have posted" over to "plan to." When I can load up Chrome, get the audio file together, the image file, blah blah blah.

Chrome is by far the most used browser by a very large margin in the world market (which also holds true for the USA market).

And this holds true for both desktop and mobile platforms.  If you are reliant on something else, you are the minority.

I think it would be nice if people could share their Cakewalk Sonar projects files.  Not just exporting a song.  There are so many clever ways to use this program that don't automatically lend themselves to common sense.  That way we could learn from each other.

I was using chrome for about a decade now without any major issues...
Everybody has their own tastes / opinions. What I mean, This should be a "non issue" for  musician that want to be heard. I know, I will probably be eaten about now :)

On the same page, I hope that Bakers are listening... If it is a real issue for some that prevents them from using Bandlab, maybe an alternative method of uploading should be implemented.

After this Audioicon started this post, I have decided to upload couple of my tunes, just to see the process. There some things I would like to be different, but overall everything went well. I do not care much about "following" and becoming "popular", but what I am hoping to get out of Bandlab is to find a couple of people who can give me a healthy critique of my stuff or even collaborate with me on some future tunes. Most of my friends are not musicians, so I think Bandlab might be a good platform for me to meet new interesting people.

Audiocon, thank you for bringing this up.

Not open collabs.  No way.  I don't want one of my tunes becoming a hip hop tune.  If I'm going to collaborate with somebody I need to know in advance what their plans are.

I'm on the fence about this one...
I'm not sure that I'd want to have my ideas on an "Open" collab.
I don't have the patience (nor stomach) for that.

I'm with JohnBee.. I'd like to know in advance what the plan is.
