I ordered the Vintage Organs and the Classic Pianos. the pianos come on a DVD, the organs are download.  I had to download 6 times before I could get them to install.  the 1st 4 times the zip file was corrupted, the 5th time it got as far as the NI install window then gave me an error that it was corrupt.  the 6th time finally worked.

note: before I get reminded that both of those come in Komplete 7, it would cost $300 to upgrade to Komplete but I don't really need anything more than Kontakt 4 except the pianos and organs, so this was a cheaper way to go.

Ahh crap.  I just realised that Kore 2 is 32bit.  That's a big suck.  :(

I wonder if I can cancel the order...  Maybe there is a Kore 3 about to be released.

I'm being redirected to the Japanese site now. Is it still safe to buy?
ew- will NI extend this sale considering they never got their act togehter as far as preparation for this sale?

I picked up Session Strings and though it was a challenge I am really enjoying them so far.  Very nice and quickly accessible nice sounds.

Anubis:  I too was redirected to the Japanese site.  Hard to see, but you just need to switch to the "English" site via an option on the top right of the webpage.  That's what I did and my transaction continued just fine.

I'd been considering getting the Vintage Organs for awhile now.   Now with this deal obviously I jumped all over it.  My downloads (had to DL the Kontakt Player as well) worked with no problems whatsoever; took maybe 15 mins.  Loving the sounds and the controls a LOT.  Yummy instrument.

Man it sucks with all these sales and good deals, they know we don't stand a chance!

I sure hope so about Kore 3. It would be a killer app if they can get it right. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

Well I made the mistake of purchasing one of their bigger D/L's. Evolve Mutations 2. The zip file is 1.4 GB and it's aborted on me at 20 MB about 20 times! C'mon NI, get your act together.
fwiw- the money aspect was handled swiftly and efficiently.

Can't you use Free Download Manager or some such?  If you can it would help as it supports resume.  Can't remember...some sites have obscure Javascript links.

A smart decision on your part  =)

You won't see Kore 3 until:

1) All NI apps (including Reaktor) are 64 bit on both platforms
2) 64 bit Mac drivers
3) NI has some form of bitbridge; either one of their own or licensing jBridge

My guess? March at the earliest.

Yep, you can- that's how I grab all my large NI downloads. I use DownThemAll! for Firefox- works well.

I was thinking of buying the vintage organs from the NI site for $60.

Then I saw that the Komplete 7 update package (I own Komplete 6) is on sale at audiomidi for $150.  And, a couple of places have agreed to "Beat the price" by a little bit... so it kinda makes sense to just spend (a little more than) twice the money and get all the extra stuff too...

My question...does the UPDATE package come with a $60 voucher as well?  Or is that only included in the "full price" pack?

It's a bummer that the NI sale will end before I would get the voucher!

Ok....thanks Craig, good to know.

I assume Reaktor is going 64bit soon.  I could live without it in the meantime though.
What do you mean 64bit Mac drivers?  You mean for the Mac audio HW? (Sorry, never used a Mac so not sure)
I don't really see why they need a bitbrige.  I assume for 3rd party 32bit plugins.  But if anyone really wants to run them they can keep running the 32bit version of Kore (IMO)

Ha - I had a similar thought as I have a NI coupon to use up - you can't use them on the discounted products! Otherwise Abbey Rd 70s would have cost all of $30! $60 is still ridiculous for such great sounds though.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Guitar Rig Kontrol (Hardware - foot pedal)?  I have the Guitar Rig 4 Pro software so I would only need to buy the hardware which is 1/2 off at $144 through tomorrow.  From what I've seen and read, it looks like a pretty nice device.

Thanks.

Just bought one (@ full price).  Seems nice.  Integrates with the software very well.  Just an expensive MIDI controller for me though as ASIO won't let me use the I/O on it as well as my main audio device.

64 bit controller drivers. The Kore controller (and all NI hardware, for that matter)'s 32 bit only on a Mac.

Hi there

Do any of you know if NI have a way to enable people to activate their products if their DAW isn't connected to the internet?

Yes, Ni has an offline registration process, It's really quite painless. Download the service center software . It basically walks you through the process. In short you can initiate the registration by launching the App in stand alone mode.( you're asked to copy the serial number into a registration box) it asks you to save it to a flash drive.... you plug that into an online computer.... it sends a response file back via email and you then plug that flash drive and return file into your DAW to finish the registration process.

Actually Rbh is right - it's very hassle free. The NI website is much more irritating than their activation system!

I know what you mean Craig.

I've just ordered GR4 Pro at half price.

<Edit> Am I correct in assuming that NI's products can only be activated and used on one machine?

Thanks again Craig and Rbh.

You're allowed installs on two systems- three with Komplete or Kore.
