Same thing is happening to me when I try to get Massive.  I decided to finally cave since they extended the sale, except it doesn't show in the shopping cart.

You won't see Kore 3 until:

1) All NI apps (including Reaktor) are 64 bit on both platforms
2) 64 bit Mac drivers
3) NI has some form of bitbridge; either one of their own or licensing jBridge

My guess? March at the earliest.

Your Kore forum moderator,
ew

I assume Reaktor is going 64bit soon.  I could live without it in the meantime though.
What do you mean 64bit Mac drivers?  You mean for the Mac audio HW? (Sorry, never used a Mac so not sure)
I don't really see why they need a bitbrige.  I assume for 3rd party 32bit plugins.  But if anyone really wants to run them they can keep running the 32bit version of Kore (IMO)
64 bit controller drivers. The Kore controller (and all NI hardware, for that matter)'s 32 bit only on a Mac.
ew

Hmm...interesting.  But I don't really see why it should hold up a 64 bit version of Kore, at least the Windows version.  Don't see how it is any different to say Guitar Rig which is 64Bit and has a HW component.

yep... it clearly says the sale is still on today but the shopping cart will not reflect the discount. I have it sitting in my cart but no go.

Same here I had the mouth in my shopping cart at 5 pm EST.  But no discount.  Full price only.

Even if it ended at midnight in Germany, that should still have been okay if it was extended one day...kind of a little p*ssed off.

It's obvious that NI was unprepared for this sale from the git go. The first 48 hours their servers were overwhelmed. They should do right by their customers and extend the sale. Period.

I didn't even get the one I wanted.. the servers at their end were ******  !!!

then to top that off , in the UK it was 11pm.. when I was about to put my order thru they reverted it back to FULL price. In CET it's 1 hour ahead.. but here it's 11pm (the previous day). Contacted support / sales and got a RUBBISH reply..

not impressed with how sloppy NI have been , they need to get some manners when talking to customers and not be so damn TERSE

I'll upgrade my Komplete to 7, but well thats all the money they are gonna get off me for a while because of this rubbish

nice own goal NI , 2nd time I've had rubbish help from them.. the last time I had to ring up berlin because they don't bother to read emails properly.

I'm amazed that a company that makes such a great product would succumb to the stupidity of depending on flash for their basic website.

If I thought my website was acting as a barrier to my business I would strip it down to the bare essentials and make it fly.

I spent several hours last night watching the N.I. site try to to load... and when I finally got an item in my shopping cart I saw that the management did not coordinate their presentation of pricing with their database... so I did not make a purchase because the sale rices were not being honored.

Any web site that has traffic should appreciate the traffic and make every effort to streamline the web surf experience for it's visitors. N.I. should remove all the flash that is simply gratuitous and go with small gfx elements that cache well and load quickly.

N.I. should definitely provide a no-flash option... and they should MOST DEFINITELY avoid depending on flash 100% for navigation. There should always be a basic html navigation system for people unwilling to waste their time on flash.

The N.I. website easily qualifies for an all time best ever award from "Websites that Suck" The problem is so obvious that it leaves me thinking there must be a very obstinate person in charge of the decision making.

best regards,
mike

not being funny Mike, 90% of the globe is probably on decent broadband / ADSL now

it's nice to have a balance for sure though, I know what you mean.

Re:Heads up - 50% off Native Instruments until Nov 29th! 2010/12/01 08:39:08 (permalink)
I appreciate the reality... but your figures are way off.

For example; A local "intellectual" was recently explaining to me how all of India was on broadband... some fantasy about the wonder of wireless technology. When I opened up an official census (I was on broadband in town at a friends cafe) the ridiculousness of his claim became easily apparent. Only 5% of the population of continental India is on the internet including all the public cafes and cell phones.

In any event I still look forward to DSL at our house... the hub has been installed down the road but the guys say they made a bad choice of hardware and are doing a major swap out before any of us get on. They are now 3 months behind schedule and 15 years behind the times.

Fog, please don't forget... your entire country can fit inside some of our counties. It may be true that per capita (I don't know if it is true) the majority of US citizens are on broadband but the fact is most of the physical land in the USA will never be on broadband.

Another example; I have a new Droid X. When I bought it I joked with salesman and told him it wouldn't work at my house but I still wanted it. He looked up my address on his map and swore that I was surrounded by towers (of course... we all are) and that I had full 3G service. I told him I wouldn't hold him to it. :-)

Well, I do not have 3g here and I barely get the 1x... and I live just under 12 miles from the State Capital building of the fourth most populated state in the U.S.A.

So, when someone tells you that most of the USA is covered... just think about how me and the sales guy at the Verizon store have different ideas of what coverage means.

Having said all that... I have surfed the N.I. site from broadband on many, if not most, occasions and it is a slow, sluggish, flash dependent website. I specifically drive in to town to surf it for tutorials info and downloaded updates. I also surf it from hotels while working on the road.

Back in the early nineties there was a seminal book titled "Websites that Suck". The N.I. website hit's on all the talking points outlined in the book.

As an example of a good website try turning flash off and surf over to the Adobe website. If you go to Adobe with flash on you get the bloat pig website, but If you go to the same site with flash turned off you get a streamlined beautiful fast loading website and you don't ever know that you missed out on all that flash. It is seamless.

That is what I mean about the N.I. site being beleaguered with Flash. If you don't have flash turned on you Can NOT surf the N.I. website at all. That is very poor website design and it is costing N.I. money because I can not get to where I want to go... even with the flash turned on.

bummer.

Anyways, I know you were trying to console me... thanks for that.

all the best,
mike

Couldn't possibly agree more about the horror that is the NI website, Mike - and I am on broadband.

It's slow to load, clunky, and unnecessarily bogged down with clutter. I would second the nomination for the 'websites that suck' award!

I'm on broadband as well and I HATE NI's website.  it's WAY too flash heavy.  it screws up on me nearly every time I'm on it.

flash is great, but it's kind of like ex-lax.  great if you take the recommended amount for what you need.  but if you get too much....

Agree about the website - I've emailed CS about the inability to get the discount to show up in the cart but I'm not holding my breath.

OT - in haste I once took both exlax and prosac.  I couldn't get off the pot all day but I really felt okay about it!

Hi folks

Sorry to hear the trouble you guys had with the NI Website. I agree that their website quality doesn't match the good quality and reputation of the products which they make and sell. At one stage the day before my purchase, as I was pondering whether or not to buy, I could not use their website due to it telling me that it did not support IE6 which it some how detected I was using, thus prompting me to upgrade to a later version. Thing is, I was using the latest version of Firefox. I was thinking of dropping them a line about this, in a constructive manner of course.

For info's sake, my order remained its discounted price throughout the entire transaction process.

For those who didn't make it, is it worth perhaps approaching NI and asking of they would belatedly honour your purchase attempts? I know it's a long shot but maybe worth a try. Especially if you intend posting (afterwards) on here about how well run they are should they help you out . Stranger things have happened in audio retail.

not impressed by the total lack of response via the NI ticket system apart from an e-mail saying that the response is likely to take a few days

When I placed my order the delivery option said 4 working days....that time is up and the weekend is here and I have no Kontakt and when I raise a ticket to find out if it's been shipped or when i can expect it to arrive I get told it may take a few days to get round to dealing with my ticket.

no tracking no confirmation of shipping just shoddy service
