Rockin' track, Bob!  The verses reminded me of Dio and the chorus reminds me of old-school Van Halen, but the overall style is all Bob Oister.  Production sounds great on my end.  Vocals (lead and vox) are perfectly balanced and the guitar tone is perfectly crunchy to my ears.  Listening to "Undone" now - I may have to just start my Friday off by listening to your whole playlist.

Hi Bob , another excellent rocker, vocals and guitars are top notch. Somehow I don't like the timing of the drums in the chorus but that's probably just me. Very professional production.

Sounding good Bob!!!  I liked it and don't have any negative comments on the mix--it sounds good in my cans.  I would only add that I agree with Rik, I think the drum in the chorus is pulling away from the tune some.  Not a showstopper and actually for me it is really more the transition between the two drum motifs that draws my attention than the actual pattern it settles into.  But that being said, this is your tune, your way and I still dig it for sure!!!!  Keep it rockin!

Another great tune, Bob.  It's cool to see you backing up 2 winners like this, as I love your stuff.  Great feel.

My comments on the mix could purely be a matter of personal taste, so please view them in that light.  I didn't feel the same issue with the drum timing, but generally felt that the mix was a tad top heavy, like I would have liked to have heard more low end drive (kick, bass, guitar).  Even the vocals sounded a mite thin.  Don't get me wrong: they were exceptional as always, but you have a great voice and a ton of power, and I was wanting to hear more of that part of you.  Again, could be my own preferences at work here, and this is YOUR tune!

All this being said, I still loved it.

    Hope all's well.......

Initial read, great toon, that kick is a little too present in this mix for me. The tone feels too close to the snare, like you have too much "snap" in it?

I would warm the vox a bit, guitar tone is awesome! Love that lead!

Loved the coda at 2:45 :-)

Wow Bob. Great rocker. Very well produced, played and sung. What's not to like.
Only nit I could hear is that the drums seemed a little too in front. Mainly the kick. Or, maybe the drums just didn't seem to be in the same 'space' as the rest of the track. Maybe a room verb. Great stuff though.......

That is a monster guitar tone Bob, what tuning are you using here? Cavernous! I get the 'Dio' vibe too, really nice and dark. The kick pattern doesn't bother me, but the tone is a little thin, but that could be hard to deepen against that guitar tone - I'm being no help here am I!

Anyhow, love this track, the breakdown was superb, as was the hint of it on the outro. Wonderful stuff.

That breakdown was great. You seem to knock these tunes out so effortlessly.
    Can't hear any bass.
Agree on the drums timing and mix presence comments.

Kick needs more bottom end. I like that you can hear the beater, but there is no oooomph after it. I'd go to double time on the chorus. It needs that separation between the verses to make the hook stand out. Good start on another classis rocker Bob. Vocals are excellent.

Love the hook and the way this song flows. Your vox and harmonies are KILLER on this piece. Guitar tones and performance are TOP NOTCH as always. I have to agree with the others on the kick, needs more low end and to come down a bit to fit more with the bass guitar. SOLID song and performance KUDOS, Bob!

    Hey, Dave,

How are you, buddy?  Doing great, I hope!

Thanks very much for giving this a listen, and for your very kind, words of encouragement!  Dio and VH are definitely two of my 80's favorites, so to me that's a really good thing.

By the way, you and Aliciya did an amazing job on your "cover of "Time After Time", totally professional all the way around.

Thanks again, I really appreciate you stopping by on this, and also your insights and observations.  It truly means a lot to me.

    Have a good one, Dave!

    Hi, Rik,

Thank you so much for checking this song out for me, and also for your very kind words!

I'm wondering if the cymbal crashes during the transitions to the choruses might need a little bit of tweaking.  That may be what you mentioned about the drum timing. I will definitely check that out further, and I appreciate you mentioning it.

I really appreciate you listening to this, and also your comments and good observations.  I find that sometimes while working on a song, I get so close to it, that it becomes easy to miss details in the mix.  That's why I look forward so much to what the helpful members of this forum are hearing when they listen and comment.

Thanks again, Rik, have a great evening, my friend!

Bob - that sounds great!  I like the tone of the power guitars.  The mix is well done - nice and uncluttered.  The vocals are great as usual and processed well.

    Hey Bob,

Your vox reminded me of Rob Halford on this - impressive lead guitar - perhaps a bit more low end to the bass?  JMO.

    Bob,
I always try to give your posts a listen, as I like your guitar tone.
This is a typical Oister sound. I will agree with others about the drums, not the sound, but the timing at the breaks.
I just felt it could be tighter.
I love bass, so I would like to hear it a bit better in your mix. Not that I can ever get a good bass sound in anything I do. Not much else of value to add.

Initial guitars feel outside the speakers ... with centric vox and best performances.

I totally love this top-shelf pop-rock song!  Vibe and performances are completely astonishing.

Levels are ABSOLUTELY perfect to my ears!  WOW!  This is fantastic!!  Don't touch anything -- haha!  SERIOUSLY!

This is my fav of yours on so many levels!  Personally, I'd profess we all are filled with utmost admiration for this song -- haha!  Thank you for this offering!

Really great tune Bob.... I think the vocals are eq'd a little too narrow, but the performance is great. Waiting for that killer guitar solo to kick in .... there it is. Yep sounds reminiscent of Richie Blackmore ... ( except Blackmore always drags his solos way out ).  Great production as well.

    Hey there Bob

Another winner my friend, the guitar tone is so thick and fits this perfectly.

The mix is excellent overall, I like how you've got your voice to sit so clearly in there.

Top-drawer solo work (as always!) and I love the harmonics in the intro.

sounds good.  Gtrs panned a liitle wide for me and the vocals are pretty mid-rangy sounding.

VERY slight timing issues it seems overall. Ck the bass and drums 1st and get them lined up to groove.

If the lead solos could sound a little less "punched in" would be nice too.  An "obvious 3rd gtr" coming in.    but hey...!

Your a good person Bob, damn shame that you should have to look for replies here after having such a great forte of musical list.

Dude, stop screwing around, you need a few videos and go You Tube. Nobody listens to radio anymore, it's all internet. Everybody thinks they are a star because they have the option these days to STEAL loops and or edit their REAL ABILITY. You are a real artist, and I respect that. I have never used the punch in feature on the cakewalk software that I use. Or I should say USED TO USE. Sorry, I'm moving over to Ableton or Sony, for reason's better left out of this thread.

Who's to say you are using Cakewalk software???? Just because you reply to someone here in the forums doesn't meant nothing ya know???

    WTF?????????

Best of luck, just BE HONEST, ALWAYS BE HONEST OR AT LEAST BE HONEST!!!!!!!???????????

Too many ego studio SHOW YA UP with studio equipt crap going on around here in my opinon. BE HONEST!!!!!!!

Either your a FREAKING GENIUS OR WE ARE ALL IDIOTS. I PROGRAM and I know the sounds you are getting are not from Cake stuff. AT LEAST IN MY OPINON.

Your a nice person either way, best of luck. Sad you need to promo your stuff here, "WHICH I KNOW YOUR NOT". Not so sad actually, WHY THE HELL ARE YOU ON HERE???????? I think either "EGO, or ATTITUDE"?????

Which one is it? No, it's one or the other.............

Your always so busy that you are ABOVE EVERYONE here and that's another reason my user name has changed.

fantastic! fantastic heavy guitar sound, the best drum sound i have heard from you, and of course stunning vocal performance. This kinda metal is making a comeback at the mo, lotsa bands in the US and Europe doing it, and this is right up there. Mix sounds great, Bob, all in all a professional level song.

In honesty, that's a monster guitar riff with killer tone. Just love the vibe on this. The vocal performance is nice, but it sounds slightly 'thin'. But that might just be a mixing choice, to keep the guitar up front. Either way, nice stuff!
