Killer collab. Synths sound massive and the guitar work is sparkling yet ethereal. Vocals do have a Jon Anderson feel but I'm a Yes fan so it's all good.
Typical Bats Brew impeccable mix.
Great job guys!

I remember the instrumental version, which I enjoyed. Vocals have taken this composition to another level... most enjoyable peeps

glad you dig this one synk,
this one is the closing song on the new album

Yeah, I remember the instrumental version of this...    Wow, it's progressed!   Nice job with the vocals, they add a bit of classic prog feel to it.   I'd also be curious to hear what drums under the second half might sound like.

hi steve!
yea, forgot i posted the instrumental first,
that was before i got the big idea to do a vocal treatment.....

i don't think drums will ever make it to this version....
but it'd be fun to collab with john again with a specific idea in mind for a full blown band arrangement,
but something that has the same feel as this approach

I love Yes...so to me it's a good thing...

jsaras
That's a good thing in my book!

ok guys, cool, LOL, i'll just roll with that one!
gonna put on 'close to the edge' now.......

Rimshot
Nice.
I listened at medium volume on my D5's:

Like the intro. Sub lows are perfect.
Killer guitar riffs and panning.

Vocals are performed really well but:Vocals are too soft and have too much sibilance IMO. They sound too compressed - too small.

hi rimshot, thanks for the review...
sub lows were almost a guess, i did some 'strange' things with my playback rig to approximate enough lows to make educated guesses at the sub lows....
i lost a lot of the sub low from john's original tracks, but they were super extended, and sounded awesome just on their own...
vocals, yes, i flip flopped on where to leave those level wise,
but ultimately i just wanted to hear them where they are....
i understand most folks want hotter vocals, typically....
if i went back and remixed any of this,
i have some 'new tricks' i would apply to the vox, that would probably make them sit better, bigger and a bit louder...
so thanks for the ideas on this...

Hey bats,

Different is an understatement. Really liked this one. Are you and Wookiee gonna have a battle of the synth moods now?

battle of the synth moods....
would make an awesome song title, eh?!
if i use that, i'll give you a song writing credit, no problem!
heheh
i'd surely like to do another collab with john,
it'd just have to fall into place, sorta like this one did.

String Jammer
Great stuff! It's like Pink Floyd on steroids!

YES! floyd on steroids,
that will be my future explanation of what i'm going after.......

Synths, that's what's been missing! Wookie + Bat, a dream collab.

Not that your previous body of work hasn't been excellent, but this could take the Bat's Brew brand to the next level. I hope this will be the new direction for your next album.

i do love the synths.
and, i play keyboards, that's what i started on!
but i rarely fire up my few vst's and my little maudio key rig.....
but i should, i guess.
i have several songs in my catelog that are based around keys, tho, bit, maybe you missed them...
i'll have to post my most recent one, that was written around a standard piano, and recorded that way.
when i do my own synths, they tend to be to 'proggy' sounding.....

thanks rscain, for listening and commenting....
this mix was tough.
i definitely did not nail it.
the guitar work, was so easy..... i literally just put up a mic, and played along with john's arrangement, and it just came out the way it happened.
i could do about 12 different versions of this thing, it's just so wide open........

So I am listening through a Steinberg interface with Sennheiser HD280 pro earphones.  It really covers the spectrum.  Really a great soundscape.  I think I would like to hear the vocals a bit more but it really is a great listen.  I have been listening to STAY in my car on the way to and from rehearsal.  it is about an hour drive overall.  I have really gotten into the whole thing.  Now, I have to go back and find my disc with BATSBLUES (Waiting To Shine) on it.  Really great CDs Rob!  John (The Wookie) did a wonderful job with the song here.
