Never give in to the doldrums.  It's a trap.  You have drag yourself into the studio and make yourself work.  I often have to do that, and once I get started, 4 hours flys by and then I feel good.  Seriously, no one's driving your but... YOU.

Nice bluesy groove.  Reminds me of someone but I can't put my finger on it.  Nice tone.  Some crafty licks in there too.  I like it.  I like the ending, I do that kind of thing too, it's not only easy, it just sounds good.

ps. Your new avatar frightens the hell out me!

Nice playing! I like the mellow tones and the rhythm. It seems more like a noodle than a tune but there is definitly something there for refinement. I love the country blues feel.

Well done!

Hey buddy --- glad to see you back on the forum.  Congratulations on your retirement.  It takes a while to get used to having your own time without the demands of others, but -- and this is a big but --- once you get used to the freedom, you're gonna love it.  Keep up the fishing -- we used to have a sports announcer on local TV that used to say that every day you spent fishing was a day added to your life.
This is a beautiful number Mark.  I agree with Vicente.  It has a nice uncluttered sound as it is.  Your playing is excellent and can stand on its own.  It has a very clean, CLEAN sound (pun intended) and that is good enough.  Get back into your music when you are ready but lets hear more.

The lead playing and tone are gorgeous. The arpeggiated part creates a nice foundation. There's a great vibe to this. Nice work, Mark!!

I was mesmerized.  Completely lost in that guitar.  I really thought the sparse arrangement without bass was nice.  It afforded more harmonic space for the guitars and the overtones without being too defined by a bass line.

Beautiful playing, Mark and very glad you're back!

Clean, I know the feeling about laying off for awhile, I'm in the same place. Is there some string buzz going on throughout this piece? Thought I heard some unintentionals happening in there. Some nice chord changes going on, but those drums need a little more life happening i a few places. Great start andlooking forward to thefinal production work. You should throw in some bass with this, that might pick it up a bit. Keep it going. Good to hear your stuff again.

Blessings, John

Love the guitar riffs,  Nice touch.

But the drums is what didn't do it for me.   Too mechanical .
They sound great,  just no deep feeling there !
This would be killer if it had a very "soulful" drummer behind it.

I did get into the guitar playing.............:)

Good stuff – a wonderful composition, well played with great tones throughout. A nice surprise – don’t know what I was expecting but this surprised me. Super.

I will tell you what I tell all my guitar students “put down that damned trout and pick up your guitar”. No, of course I don’t say that and I have no students but where else could I make a comment like that and have it almost makes sense. Keep on writing and playing – it makes everything better!
