Hello my friends.

I haven't been around in some time. I haven't played guitar or recorded anything in a few months. I think I'm back at it again - I wrote a tune this weekend and am in the middle of recording it. Warren and I are doing a couple of things again.

Anyway, I did this tune before I decided to give music a break - it's entitled SIMPLETONIAN

I did this in one quick session about four months ago - forgot about it - found it today and thought I'd give it a whirl.

Thanks for taking a listen.

I agree - needs a bass and maybe some keys - but as I said - I quit playing shortly after recording this - I'm still trying to get back into it.

    Thanks.

    And Scottybro, thank you man.

I hope it's not a bad thing that kept you away from recording.  This is great!  :)  Glad to hear you playing again.

No, nothing bad Janet. I don't really know - after doing about 80 of my own tunes and another 120 or so with other people - I just felt I was getting stale.

I retired from my job in June - I thought I would be finding a lot of time to record - but, instead I have found myself doing everything but playing.

I hope all is well with you. Take care and thanks for taking a listen.

Well, that's good to hear.  I mean about nothing bad. :)  I hear ya though...I've felt that way too, after doing several myself.  And then there's the minor issue of the fact that I HAVEN'T retired yet.

I hope your other endeavors are fulfilling too, though!  :)

Yea, my other endeavor - trout fishing is great - caught one last week - 24" - 5 pounds - that is a big trout.

Nice and sweet guitar work!  It reminds me of Jeff Beck's "Blow by Blow" era.  If you add a bass, I would keep it low.  It sounds very special like it is.

loving this tune, some awesome chord changes and the way you arpeggiate this is amazing...sounds nothing like anything else on here. if you were to add anything else, i could hear a little gospel organ or hammond, but really it doesn't need it...

    Mark,
It's great to see you back cranking out some tunes.  I know you haven't officiall got back into the saddle so to speak but it's great you're here.

This tune was sweet on many levely.  I'm not a guitar player by any stretch of the imagination, but I just love how you went in and out of that distorted tone.  Very nice!

It sounds like you're enjoying retirement so far.  Congrats!  If you ever wonder out this way, pick up Warren on your way over and I'm sure between the three of us we could develope something worthy of recording and posting here on the forum.
