yep.  big storms including tornados all around.  I'm in the basement of a very large building, I'm pretty safe here.

my wife is in a tower a little east of where I am, but the storms are mostly north and south of us for now.  some of my coworkers are worried about their homes and families near the Alliance airport area.

RobertB might need some concern - he's normally anywhere in the Ft. Worth area on service calls out in his van.  Hope he's taken to shelter!

We have had to move to the center of our warehouse 3 times now.  Sirens have been going off, on and off for several hours now.  One of the Carpenters that works for me just left for home, after the last wave of tornados.  Appearently his wife called and said they had just lost their roof.

ouch!  where is your warehouse and where is the Carpenter's house?

it seems from what I'm hearing/seeing on the weather radar and NWS alerts that the worst areas hit are northeast Tarrant/Northwest Dallas areas.

Barry - I'm at work right now, on the west side of Fort Worth, near the Joint Naval Air Station (formerly known as Carswell AFB) near I30 and I820W.

Mike, I think is in Mesquite which is pretty much due East of where I am, just East of Dallas along I30.

RobertB - I forgot this is Tuesday - you're home aren't you?  did we get any hail or high winds there?

Work in Grand Prairie just north of 6 Flags, but live in Mesquite.  This round seems to have blown through.  A coworker said there may be one more yet.

My neighbor in Mesquite said that my house is still there, but I know she can't see much of it from her house.  Kids are in school, wife called from Garland where she is sitting it out.

    Luckily, I'm off today, Reece.
Just moments after the sirens started, Donna called. She was on her way home from from Frisco, and wanted me to turn on the news and find out what she was driving into. I could hear the hail pelting her car.
I told her to get off the road, and she holed up in a bank near the 820/20 interchange. She would have been driving through Kennedale as it got rough. We stayed on the phone, and when the window opened up, she made the dash for home before the second wave moved in.
The air on the ground was strangely still, but the clouds were going crazy, and I saw several tails form and dissipate.
The area where Reece and I live saw relatively mild action. Most of the intense damage has been farther to the East. The tornado that passed through Arlington and South Dallas stayed on the ground for over half an hour.
Thankfully, very few injuries have been reported so far.

    good deal!  glad Donna's OK.

I go to church in Kennedale and have friends in that area, tho.  I need to try to contact them and make sure everything's OK.

I still haven't heard yet from Beverly, either, but she's training on a new job and isn't by her email or phone and can't have her cell phone with her.

Your link didn't connect fast enough for my ADHD to handle but, if that's the one showing the tractor-trailers flying around, I've seen it and it's unbelievable.  Then, later in the video, you see the tornado cooking past a road with a lot of traffic WAY too close...
