You dug up a thread from 2008!?! There seems to be a spate of ancient threads being dug up by new members on their first post.

Oh, yeh... I didn't even notice that... msgs on this board are 10 years old... Well, it took me a LONG time to ever even try softsynths. I've always used a lot of outboard gear. But, I discovered (at LONG last) that I really do like the TTS-1. It just doesn't work "as advertized", I guess. Can't believe they never fixed it, though... Saving your own User banks would be an incredibly useful function... *sigh*

Well I'm currently about 6 miles away from my DAW so am unable to replicate your steps. This was mainly in response to OldNick's comment that it was broken, and it isn't.

Bristol - ok, roger that... I guess I'd better give an update since yesterday. It APPEARS that, when saving a User Bank, I have to use a SHORT file name, like "UB1.gmn", rather than "User_Bank_1.gmn" That is the ONLY think I've done differently this morning, and it seems to be working. Right now, I'm going through a number of "test attempts" to see if I can load my "UB1.gmn" in other project files, etc, etc. But, what I've seen so far, is that - oddly enough - it SEEMS to be working... Maybe it goes way back to the old days, when DOS file names were restricted to 8 characters, plus the file extension... I dunno....

It's a Roland product and they separated from Cakewalk some time back, so not much chance of any updates. I use it for sketching down ideas only (bass, piano, pad sound). I must check the patch saving aspect next time.

So: First track piano, second jazz bass. Doodled some notes on the PRV. I turned up the resonance on the jazz bass, pressed Write, saved the lot under preset "no preset" (I have no idea how you rename those presets) and saved the project. Closed Sonar Reopened Sonar Opened my project ... and my Jazz Bass still had the resonance turned up high. That's about all I really need for song sketching.
