The term chain reaction has become quite famous in relation to atomic research and I for one can't help but be concerned about experiments that could result in one.

Yuh. Three legged cow anyone?  Even now people working the nuclear test site get irradiated or pick up a stray particle causing health problems. What else don't we know?

Just to be safe, I left this universe during the recent experiment.  In the event that this test did actually destroy the universe, I thought it might be a good idea to take shelter in a different one.  For some reason, I decided to call that universe, Merle.

Merle was pretty comfortable.  Heat Death was still quite a long way into the future.  Taxes were reasonably low.  Becan was plentyful.  Ambulances were outfitted with mermaids who sang ABBA songs to lure victims to the scene of future accidents.

Unfortunately, when the Higgs-Boson experiment was conducted, Merle was destroyed.  I should have seen it coming.  The mermaids were really loud.
