luke1331 - Thanks for listening and the positive review.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the mix/song. (hi fives).

geetarock - I agree. Fun is the name of the game. I
also like listening to different styles. Thanks for posting.

dudemanjch - Yes encouraging each other and making
suggestions is a good point. It helps you become a
better player and helps with recording, mixing etc.
I'm definitely not here to compete. I'm here to share my
works with others, learn and listen to some great music
on here. Thanks for the post, appreciate it.

shredhead - Sorry, I think my lead guitar player plays awesome.
If you're talking about the double and triple leads I did
or the rythym guitar i did then yes they could be touched up
and they are definitely not great. It's your own opinion
though. Appreciate you taking the time to post and for
listening. Best of luck!

Well, gee Pluto. This IS the guitar tracks section of the sight. When someone puts up a post with the word "UNBELIEVABLE" in it you do expect to hear more than someone just playing in a blues box. Ok, by today's standards where guitar leads are non-existent I guess it is "unbelievable". I come from the music world. The whole 90's shred thing when the pressure to keep up was incredible. I've been in Guitar World magazine in the Hometown heroes section in August '91 and have been playing for 27 years. Even at my peak in the 90's I was nowhere close to the real "unbelievable" guitar playing of Vai, Satch or Malmsteen. So when someone makes a boast about being unbelievable, they better be ready to back it up. Maybe next time make the heading-Wanna hear some "nice" lead guitar?

Shredhead,

After I finished mixing it (Highway 93 Scorcher) i waited a few days,
then listened again. At the beginning where the guitar lead kicks in,
i thought it sounded like a great lead. So i posted on impulse and
used the word unbelievable cause at that moment in time it sounded,
well, unbelievable to me...lol. It's the very first "kick in"
lead at :08 and the last lead at 3:06 that i'm talking about, those are
the ones that to me are great (ok i won't use the word unbelievable..lol)
leads. Sure I've heard better too,
but again it's all in ones own personal opinion. Thanks for posting,
appreciate you taking the time. Do you have any tunes up? I'd
like to hear your playing. Have you heard the flanger lead in the
lighter version called Highway 93? It's cool.

Hey Pluto, I live in NH. I work in Boston everyday. I just saw your location. There is some incredible talent in Boston. If you have an email address posted I can send you an mp3 or something. I don't mean to be harsh or anything, but I've learned that no matter how good you are, there's always someone waiting in the shadows to knock you off.

Hey shredhed.... simply post your mp3 up on
www.soundclick.com and I'll check it out.
Only takes 5 min to create a page, then upload
your tune to your page.

It's "not bad".....sounds like some of the lead passages got bumped a little off beat just slightly....playing was fine just didn't quite line up with percussion right, didn't "feel" solid. I think that it was probably more an editing thing than a playing thing tho...

Ive been reading everyones comments on this post for quite awhile and made me think about some stuff. unbelievable is all in the ears of whoever is listening. the songs and players i think are unbelievable others may disagree with.

If Pluto thinks his track is unbelievable, then good for him, he should be proud of his work. my only suggestion would be too make the transitions a little smoother.

remember this is a community of fellow musicians who are all trying to reach the same goal. recording a great song or songs. so lets get back to the 60's and show some peace and love. (okay i am making myslef sick)

sorry about the ranting

stratboy - Thanks for the post, appreciate it. I need to clarify
something. I don't think the track is unbelievable. I think
a couple of leads in it are great in "my opinion" and
thought I would share it with the forum. It's not the type of
song that will ever make it nationally. Just sharing some great
lead guitar. The topic title specifies lead guitar. Not competing
with all the great musicians on this forum, just sharing. Whenever
I get a chance i check out other people's music on this forum.
It's an enjoyable experience to listen to all the awesome music.
And I agree, most of us are in it for the same reason.

tim_greenwood - Appreciate you taking the time to review.
Yes, I am limited for equipment at present so makes it
difficult. I need to spend a lot more time with my stuff to get
a halfway descent sound. But I'm not going to give up and I
plan on getting better and better. I seem to be able to mix
guitar leads ok, it's the drums, bass and vocals i have a
difficult time with.... but I'll get it eventually. Thanks again
for commenting.
