It wasn't bad for an amatuer, and I'm not claiming to be able to play any better, but, unbelievable? No, not unbelievable. If you want unbelievable then listen to Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen or some other guitar GOD!!!

I don't mean any offence by dissagreeing with you but I have to speak my mind.

All the best & Merry Christmas

    Hi SixWheels...

I was mainly giving credit to one of my guitar players. He is
definitely not an amateur. He's been playing professionally
for a long time. It's how I feel about his lead guitar playing
and thought I would express it. He plays the main lead guitar
on Highway 93 Scorcher, i play the two melodic harmonizing
triple lead guitar breaks in the middle and near end of the song.
Anyhow, thanx for taking the time to give your opinion.

    Pluto,

    well..... listened to 3 tracks:
    Highway 93 scorcher: Ok, it's not "incredible" but it's a damn good effort at a kick-ass attitude rock'n'roll !
Digital Power project: great rythmn, only.... the song should lift off more if you see what I mean. The power chords and lead breaks I like but I still think it should go somewhere mmore specific!!
95 south effex: the lead is great but personally I'm not a great fan of synths or syhth-style ryhtm....

Overall you guys are doing great, as soon as I've got a bit of time I'll go through your other files !

    Cheers

The thing that I dug was the tone of that lead guitar - nice. Great for leads. I liked the effects on it too. Just enough, not so overpowering. I was in a great place in the mix too. great recording, great performance!

    pluto,

"Wanna hear some unbelievable lead guitar?"

Hmmmmmmmm, NOT UNBELIEVEABLE, but fair and entertaining none the less.

If you do want to hear unbelieveable guitar playing, go to the Watering Hole, or to some of the guitar modeling sites, or to the Cakewalk songs section. There are guys out there that make your guy and a good many of us sound like we're in the "this is the way you hold your pelectrum" stage of guitar lessons.

thank you 01stevenswil.... and glad you enjoyed it. As for a classy
feel.... that comment is very much appreciated. I heard it (the song)
so much it's kinda hard to tell what kind of feel it has, and to hear that
comment makes me feel like all the work i put into it was worth it.
    Thanks again.

I agree about the "Digital Power Project" track. I'm thinking
of putting some rap-rock type vocals in it along with
improving the "lift off" and add an explosive middle break.
    Thanks again.

BrentB6..... thank you. the rythym guitar consists of 3
harmonizing leads throughout the whole song in the
background..... the middle lead guit and near end lead guit
consists of 3 harmonizing lead guitar tracks. the 3 main lead
guit breaks are single leads. and there are actually 2 bass
lines. i wonder if that's what you mean when you say it's
"very believable"...lol. thanks again for the good word and taking
    the time to listen.

Try going easy on the record, I mean, you can still Normalize peaks after..

But mainly, it is deja-vu but a good classic rock song, solo ain't That great, personnaly I can improvise for years into rock style pentatonic and melodic scales at in any notes. It sounds a bit repetitive too. Anyways, maybe it is just my complex taste for creativeness.

Hey Pluto, After reading your posts, I gotta say, you got class.

I listened to a bunch of your songs, and I think "Sign" was my favorite -- but I'm not sure what happened to the end. It just sort of stops. Anyway, I like your voice and would like to have it featured more in the mix. You seem to have a vocal effects combination you are comfortable with, and to me it sounds fine, just try not to overdo it. Remember your Tao, less is more. It's tuff to master your own stuff, isn't it?

Your hard work really shows, and you are sooooooooo close!

    I look forward to more.

Dana7 - Thanks for the heads up and the good word. Yes the
ending of Signs never got finished, should've been a
clean fade, just haven't gotten around to fixing it. As for your
comment on the vocals, you hit it on the button. I have my
own way i go about recording my vocals and adding effects
that's comfortable for me. And about bringing my vocals out
more you are absolutely right, a few people have told me the
same thing, about having a good voice, why not bring it out
more. Glad you mentioned it. I'm always trying to improve on things
though and learn. As for mastering, mixing, it is time consuming
and yes not easy. The key words, for me anyways, is patience
and experimenting. Thanks again for writing and I'm glad you
    like the tunes.

Ycharb - I will take your suggestion regarding normalization
into consideration. Thanks for the good word and for
taking the time to write. It is much appreciated.

Milez - Thanks for writing. You are definitely entitled to
your own opinion and that's ok.... no problem with me.

I disagree with your view though on my guitar player's lead
guitar playing. In my own opinion, I think he plays
awesome lead guitar. There's a lot of talent and great
guitar players out there and on this forum. I'm not comparing
or saying he's better than anyone. It's just my own opinion.
What I like others may not like... and vise versa. If you are
referring to the mix, sound quality.... I'm no expert at recording
and mixing and am constantly trying to improve in that dept.
I wish you well in your musical endeavors.

I think we all missed the point.....Recording (most of us are not persueing contracts) is for fun and putting ones personal skills in sound format. Enjoy what we do and make it fun. I am not anywhere near this guys playing (listen to my FIRST SONG COMPLETED ON THIS BOARD) but I enjoy that each person has his or her own unique style and liking.

True, this shouldn't be a ridiculous competition. But.....Unbelievable? No. I tend to agree with sixwheels. It's ok for an amatuer. Or like a first recording. I'm not hating either. It's just not great or even good. Fair I would say.
