I understand what you are saying . When I first got clean and sober I took a good long hard look and realized that surrounding myself with people that were totally whacked out didn't work for me any more ….

I don't need to climb on somebody else's back and shoulders to feel good about myself

The concept of why I started this thread in the first place was based more on having multiple run-ins with a few select people over the years ….For what ever the reason may happen to be ,
it could be them , it could be me , the fact of the matter is we just don't Gell ,
enough said for now on that …

Hi,

All in all, this Forum is very good and the people are very nice. ALL OF THEM!

Funny bit about John Glascock and Carmen, for you talented foohs and zoohs, he once commented about the fact that his bass could not keep up with the castanets and those feet on the floor! The bass was almost always doing half the time that the feet and castanets did!

So, the music sounds a bit more progressive because of the different things combined ... and working nicely!

He never did that with Jethro Tull, btw ...

Or the variation on GC's quote above, favored by Craig Anderton: never wrestle with a pig; you'll only get muddy and the pig likes it.

In most social situations, you decide who you want to interact with. If you get into an altercation with someone online, it's because you chose to. I know, sometimes it's hard to resist. But ultimately the choices are always yours.

For example, I will never, ever, type the word "becan" in a forum post. It invites the wrong crowd.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

This is very true, Bitflipper
The corollary to that is that if you treat others with respect and kindness, you are more likely to be treated that way yourself. This is (of course) true in general, not just online.

This post is directed at the wrestling with the pig concept , not at the person who seemed to have coined it or made it popular

Well sure , on line it can play out pretty bad to wrestle with a pig …I got that one  ….

Yet , the higher up the food chain you go , the guy who thinks your the Pig turns out to be the Pig for some other narcissistic self serving Pork Chop .

I just chalk that one up to human nature folks ……
