I get good results with the capsule on a LDC aimed right between the upper lip and the nose. Stay close if you wants some nice airway noise, and overtones, but back up for the loud parts. If the mic is positioned too low (near the chin) tracks tends to get a nasal sound on some vocalists. Obviously a wind screen is a must. Sometimes a second (similar) mic back a foot or so, can save a track for vocalists that don't work the mic that well. (On some particularly troublesome vocalists, a "decoy mic" for them to hold (like a 58) and a LDC back a foot will salvage a take.)

Slightly higher than the mouth....3-6 inches away (depending on the vocalist volume and technique).......CAD Equitek 300

omg. the only thing dorkier than having a pop filter clamped to your ballcap
is a set of headphones duck taped to your face. I feel better now

*edited for spelling... it is "duck" tape, according to her.
