Huge SONAR "Ipswich" update now available
The big Ipswich news is real-time, direct recording of instrument tracks, but that’s not all. Exporting just became a whole lot easier thanks to export presets and the ability to export multiple, individual clips simultaneously. Ipswich also sees the addition of MixStrips and Style Dials to SONAR Artist, as well as ProChannel versions of the Style Dials for SONAR Professional and Platinum. There’s even PNG support for track icons, and as usual, fixes and enhancements to make the SONAR environment ever more stable. This update is now available in your Command Center. Learn more about Ipswich BONUS: In addition, there's a 24 page e-zine available with all the information you need to know about Ipswich plus a review of the Ploytec PL2 hardware synthesizer, the monthly BlogBeat with links to the latest hot topics in the Cakewalk blog, and the start of the “Anatomy of a Project” series that describes real-world SONAR applications. Download the e-zine today

Downloaded it and started playing with it! Absolutely FANTASTIC update, to say the least. And coming before it was due, too. Regardless, great work and . . . . . you know what . . . . I'm finding the one knob simplicity of the style dials to be surprisingly useful. And real time recording is stupendous, too.

Nice update... I'm gonna grab it this evening.
Thanks to the Bakers once again...
Some fixes that will relieve some discomfort (the click-hold for z and others) and Many things I might never use, but grateful for them...
Looking forward to the update.
One question?
The CCC is mentioned as an update. Is this new since hopkinton or is it simply a reminder? As I have to download from another PC, I'm trying to establish which updates I need to grab for offline updating...
Thanks again!
Keni

The CCC was updated yesterday but if you are doing everything manually do you actually use CCC? If you do, download the new version.

The soft synth recording on the fly works perfectly. Huge update indeed. Be sure to split the softsynth into two tracks, instead of using simple instrument track. Redorded Aalto and all changes I did to it wonderfully.

Thanks for the update, but there seems to be a major bug in this new Ipswitch update. I'm working on a TV show and there is a big problem with the videos. I'm just opening the same project I was working on yesterday on the Hopkinton version where everything was working great and now in this new version, any kind of starting and stopping playback action takes at least 4-5 seconds and when I stop the playback the video keeps running for 4-5 seconds by itself while Sonar becomes unresponsive. Please let me know how to fix this issue! I'll have to go back to Hopkinton until this is fixed. Thanks! EDIT: I just realized that it's not only a video issue. Regular audio only project started doing the some thing. Takes 4-5 seconds to start and stop playback. Maybe third party plugin/synth problem? Although it still does it when all the synths are disabled that were loaded originally. Just simple audio playback causes it. AND projects take longer to open than before!

Thanks Steve... I use CCC to do the install and keep track of things. The machine is online but I can't download on the Internet connection my neighbor allows me to use... So I download elsewhere, then use CCC to install and use the minimum amount of my neighbors system (we're all satellite based up here in the mountains)... I hope one day to have my own web connection again and part of my reason for using CCC is in preparation of that day...

Emir, you may want to open a thread in the Sonar Forum below with the issues you're having. People will more likely offer solutions there than here. Also, include all your system/hardware specs in the post to make it easier to diagnose the issue.
