adrian4u I ment something to make doing "my own" presets for ACT. As you maybe know, I have Behringer BCF2000 (in mckie mode) and BCR2000 (ACT or AJ surface), and I'm totally angry because of ACT control surface for BCR is totally ****ed up. I'd like to see that these controllers work together with cooperation - not BCR is doubling some of the functions of BCF.... Main disadvantage with ACT is that it can handle just 16 controllers at once, and I have 32 knobs + 28 buttons AT ONCE.... For now I'm thinking about custom definition for controller or made two "virtual" controllers from one BCR I have BCF2000 in Mackie Mode, too, but I don't have BCR2000 - mainly because I've read that it doesn't work neat with SONAR ACT! I may do some reseach and see if I can make anything for this... but don't hold your breath yet! :)

Sounds good. Will this enable us to change the colour of the control sections (i.e. console channel strips) from the currently baked in colours - like having all drums one colour and guitars another? Kinda like what Protools can do? Regards Stewart

Don't worry too much about VB.net vs C++. Although I would never undertake progamming a critical real time application like a DAW in VB, there is still a lot of facility in VB.net. (I have used both, along with around 20 other programming languages and assemblers in my career). The trick in VB.net is to understand that Microsoft's tools are constantly evolving. My diffuculties are usually around migrating from one version of the dot-net environment to the next. There are a lot of very powerful new toys in the "MY." workspace, and a fair amount of information from Microsoft developers forums and other web sources. Good luck with your project. I hope Cakewalk takes note of the demand for customization by a significant group of users.

I did it finally!!! I found the gray color codes buried in SONAR executable! Now I can change filler colors in the Console View. Check this: This is not an ordinary 'mod' because I needed to change the SONAR executable. Sorry CW GUI designer that I change your world of colors (well, darker and lighter gray actually) but I could not resist...;) I include changing this filler color in Deep but unfortunately I can make it compatible only with those SONAR version I use (x64 and x86 X1c currently).

I haven't done such themes (yet) but it's bundled with Dark Side, Black Label, Reindeer, Yellowstone, Spring global themes + over half dozen ProChannel themes + various other things. Other DAW presets is nice idea and I may implement some of them.

It's all fine and well Panup, but I still don't see a MIDI remote button for a percolator anywhere, or a pop-up menu for the local pizza place... Your priorities seem a bit skewed towards music production. :O)

panup I'm confident I can make Deep compatible with X1 Expanded - if I decide to purchase it. If there was any justice, Cake should give you (and Ben) a free upgrade. And pay you both royally for creating these mods, which they could then include as an 'authorised' part of the X1 package.

Now I have ready & tested routines to change console view filler colors of inactive, active and mains strips. As shown in this example screen capture, Black Label Mod has never been as black before... More good news: ProChannel's filler color (that gray one) can now be replaced with a bitmap. Example: Then some drawback: I had to remove pizza menu temporarily because there are compatibility issues with pizza customization (too many environment variables and localization problems).

Get used to this kind of interface... Theme Presets dropdown list contains all installed themes (old mods). They're located in Themes Folder (location can be set in preferences). Each Theme has a subfolder in the Root Folder. In subfolder there is either a DLL file or PNG and Bitmap subfolders for image files. Deep can import themes from both image files and [SONAR] DLLs. More about this logic later. The first button is "Apply Selected Theme Preset". Pressing it will make Deep load images from external files to the current TTSRES DLL. Next button is for renaming the current Theme. Theme names are (currently) stored in info.txt, found in each Theme's own folder which means you can edit it outside Deep in Explorer, too. Pressing the yellow folder button will open Theme Root Folder for browsing. Pressing + button creates a new, empty theme (after asking subfolder and theme names). X button is there to delete theme. "View" dropdown list opens list of all kind of SONAR interface modules you can edit. In the following screen capture I have opened Control Bar and VST Plug-in interface modules: Right-clicking any graphics element will open a context menu as shown in the screen capture. You can Edit, Load image from file, copy current image to clipboard, paste it from clipboard or save it as a PNG or BMP file to your own Theme Folder (or anywhere, my mom preferes c:\ and c:\windows for all docs). Design will change all the time as I get better ideas to make editing easier. It has still many flaws but I begin to like the basic functionality of the editor. It allows me to make 'selectivet theme import' feature quite easily; you can select which modules you want to import from a theme. ´
