Re: I DON'T WAN'T TO READ THE MANUAL!!! 2014/02/23 01:20:40 (permalink)
It helps if the manual is up to date, written well, or even exists. Do we have an X3 manual yet? Previous Sonar manuals are full of errors. The Reaktor manual is so out of date that it refers to (and pictures) UI elements that have either changed or disappeared entirely. I tried "reading the manual" for MeldaProduction's "MRhythmizer" but quickly realized that it doesn't even touch on the basics of the program. So oftentimes there is no other choice but to twiddle randomly or ask on forums.

There are exceptions. The Geist manual is excellent.

Gee, I am am similar. Like I think I read the manual when I first got S6 but it was all gobblygook to me. Magazine tutorials have been good so too some Sonar videoes.
I'll admit to not reading the manual in Sonar except a bit when we went to X1.
I just record some tracks and mix down something that strikes a chord. Some automation to edit the mistakes.
I tried the comp feature in X3 when I first upgraded but haven't done anything with it since.

How about the Desert Mystery?  How about all the bodies dug up on the east side of Las Vegas?  That used to be the dumping ground for the Mob back in the 40's and 50's.

I'm glad he hasn't concentrated on making /mixing music. If he did that we would all be throwing away all our DAWS.
He is surely a freak of nature.

I am very happy people don't read manuals. My writing career would be over if they did.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

I have asked and answered many questions on this forum and neither I nor the others are lazy.

The manual is often extremely cryptic or unclear, as is the online help.  It also does not always cover the specific situations.

I assume you are trying to be funny here, but I find it insulting.  If you really think only lazy people ask questions on the forum, why do you log on?

By the way, I have searched your posts, and every one is either something you think is funny but that has no real content, or is a complaint against another member.  Maybe you are too lazy to come up with a real topic.  The Moderator should block you.
