nicely done! I like this song!... the female vocals at the end could probably be a little softer... or im not so much into it.. at first don't click for me.. but great quality and your vocals are awesome.. really liked the changes and notes picked for all.. nice job!

Shawn, thanks so much for your time and comments.  It's the first time I ever heard "radio-ready" in regards to one of my songs   I can't wait to hear your new song.

Pablo, I appreciate you taking to time to listen and reply.  You may have a point about the female vocal.  Though I think it's a great sample, it could stand to come down a db or two.  Welcome to the forum, btw.

All the best,
Lynn

Lynn,

We should do something together some time. Give me a idea or two and I will write some lyrics.

Hi Lynn,

I might like to take that one on, the people idea concept.

Song Title: Under The Bridge

Idea 1: Government protest song
Idea 2: How war causes people to live under the bridge
Idea 3: Drug addiction
Idea 4: Mental illiness

Jeezzs...This is looking like a minor key song...makes me sad just thinking about it.

Perhaps a positive spin on the idea....

Idea 1: Why I am happy living under a bridge
Idea 2: Escape from the bridge

Plenty of people living under bridges here in Florida. Perhaps I should go talk to a few of them and bring some things that they need like a kind word and a little hot food and cold drinks.

Got to put some thought into this one. Kinda serious project.

Still waiting for the harmonica Lynn. Just got to be some space for the ole harmonica!! Sounding much better now though from the original mix. Nicely done.

Peace and Blessings, John

PS If you don't have a harmonica, you can borrow one of mine, but you may want to wash some of the old spit out of the reeds, because it could be nerve racking stuff!! HA! Just a laugh!!

James, it's nice to hear from you.  Thanks for you kind words.  That Jacyn really cooks.

John, there will be a harmonica in this song.  I ordered a D harp from Sweetwater, and now I need to practice.  It may take a while, but eventually it will be there.

Awesome job Lynn! You've got a real talent with the bluesy stuff you do. Like this one quite a bit. Bass and drums are excellent, guitars are rocking, and your gravelly voice fits perfectly.

This is a very cool tune! I love the blues when it's not the typical 3 chord deal...this is a good example of what modern blues can be.

I think you nailed that blues feel....it isn't too edgy. I think the organ works perfectly and you pick an organ sound that fits the track to perfection. As always I love your vocals...you have a set of pipes taylor made for this kind of thing. You playing the new guitar on this? I'm jealous....nice indeed!!!

Peter, thanks for your time and response.  It really means a lot.

Tim, I really appreciate it, buddy.  That is my new PRS on the tracks.  My next goal is to feature it side by side with my Strat in an upcoming project.

Jacob, that may be some mud you are hearing.  I think it's the tube distortion that I added to the organ track to give it texture.  Without it, the organ is a bit on the mellow side.  Thanks for listening again.  Your time is valuable.

Hi,
Great voice and good fun hearing the" Laureen I don't know what" from D pro at the end of the song.
If I had a little criticism,it should be: I don't know what limiter you use but it seems to be a loudness war winner😅..
Real blues feel and again super vocal part.

Cheers,

Olivier

Olivier, thanks for listening and your input.  The limiter is the Izotope one in Sound Forge 11.  It's always a delicate balance to get the correct volume level without squashing the sound.  I hope you don't hear it as squashed, but if so, it's a simple adjustment.

Steve, I waiting for UPS to deliver my blues harp this afternoon.  Maybe it'll be there sometime this coming week.  I must practice first, as I haven't played in a long time.

George, I hope you get to hear it sometime.  That's the thing about Soundclick that I don't like.  I can't get it on my Android tablet, but I can get Soundcloud.  I may switch for future songs.

Great blues tune Lynn and your vocals are fantastic on this!!! You really should do more blues songs.....your vocals are a perfect fit for them (very soulful). The blues are what I learnt to first play and to this day, it's still is my favorite (especially to solo on :)).
The mix is top notch as well.......very full, balanced and clear.
Excellent work there buddy!!

Wow, Mesh, I don't know what to say.  Truth be told, there was a time that I couldn't have sung this.  I just sort of grew into this role.  I know a lot more about life's ups and downs than I did earlier in life, and I've had some pent up feelings inside that had to come out.  Thanks for your encouragement!

Hi lynn,
No the sound is not squashed,it is just loud!!Maybe I'm jealous and I wish I would have this big...limiter😂( I do have ozone but never dare to ask him what it could give me..french behavior maybe.)
So I told you vocals were great but forgot to mention that guitars were in the heart of the target, but because I'm french and here we always have to say:" well,it's ok but it should be better😂" I think you could put them a little bit dryer,I mean less delays or reverb,I don't know..I mean they are played in the spirit of the blues but you put them a little bit in the Joe Satriani sound...sorry sorry,I won't do it again...
Cheers.
