I Must Be In Love (cause I'm singing the blues) - Now with Blues Harp - remixed 7/20/15

Here's another new song that I wrote and recorded in Platinum.  Some of you may recognize Jacyn from the vocal section of Dim Pro, but the rest is just me.  I haven't played the blues in a long time, but I've been feeling them, lately.  I'm looking forward to all comments and suggestions.  Many thanks in advance.

UPDATE: remixed on 7/5/157
I cut some of the fat from this piece per suggestions by several people.  I hope I'm going in the right direction with this.  Thanks for all the suggestions.

This is remix #2.  I added a slight touch of reverb on the snare, as suggested by MGC59.  I also added the blues harp in places which was requested by several people.  DISCLAIMER:  I haven't played harmonica in about 25 years, so I didn't take center stage with this, as I'm no John Mayall.  I just hope that it doesn't offend anyone ;)

Remix #3:  I brought the rhythm gtr up a bit, and I cut a little more fat (low mids).  Thanks again for your ears and support.

Remix #4:  (7/20/15)  Small change.  Some have said that this was heavy in the low mids, so I applied a multiband compressor at the mastering stage to smooth out the frequencies.

Fun. I'd bring the drums up a tad, and once you do, I wonder if your guitar in the first minute or so isn't coming in juuuuuust a hair before the drums give the downbeat?  The drums have a "behind the beat" swampy quality to them, I'd like to hear them a little more, and you might consider dropping the guitars and organ just a bit. YMMV.

Great bluesy voice by the way! Really fits the song, and you've got that growly thing down! Guitar licks are plenty tasty.

cheers,
-Tom

Thanks, Tom, for the suggestion.  I did bring the drums up a bit, and hopefully, this will balance the rest.  I actually wrote the song around a 6/8 MIDI loop from AD2, so maybe I rushed the guitar a bit.

Lynn, Sounds good to these old rusty ears, yet it seems like it could use some harmonica in there somewhere. Just a thought from an old timer. Nice vocals on this and the instrumentation fits right in to make this a Lynn bluesy special masterpiece.

Thank you all for your time and patience.  John, I agree that a harmonica would fit in here, and I may go out and buy one to experiment with.  I appreciate all the comments about my voice.  I may do some more writing in this genre because it seems to be in my wheelhouse.  Thanks again!

Hi Lynn,

currently listening to your IMBIL(CISTB) song.

I'm a bit late to the party here, so I can't say much more than has already been said, which I agree with... Yes, your voice, and playing, fits this genre so well .

cheers

Sooo cool it is frosty.  You're putting down some good Blues sounds here.  The growl that you are putting in your vocals sounds great.  I can't remember the name of the singer but she told a story of a time she did a gig with Thelonius Monk in the audience. After the gig he talked with her and gave her the advice of "don't try and be so perfect."  She explained that what he was trying to tell her was to get into the emotion of the song --- that even slight imperfections can make the song.
The Blues is not only about the musicians skill and the mix but must consider the looseness and feel of the number.  Oh ya, there is also the intangible thing -- it has got to be cool.  I think that you have zeroed in on all that with this number.
Nice one Lynn!

Lynn, this is great! love the B3!  vocals are excellent!

the mix is very heavy in the mids, it's a little muddy.  I might suggest carving out some mids in some of the instruments (in slightly) different frequencies for each instrument).

other than that, I really like this!  very good stuff!
