Which instrument makes it for a good sell?

A good viagra section, big hornz and other stringz sound nice for Rap and RnB.

His grammar and spelling is very similar to a preschooler's so I believe that wont be a problem.

Mattheu - if I may take the liberty to say so, it appears that English is not your native language and perhaps for this reason you have not yet realized that the majority of responses herein are unfortunately poking fun at your original post.  I would suggest that the fact that you have just installed the software and are asking these kinds of questions is an indication you are no where near being ready to make music for commercial purposes - and this is not necessarily a bad thing!.  I would sincerely recommend continuing on for a while learning to make music for FUN.  Your success and the amount of joy/satisfaction you get from that will eventually determine whether it is something you can do for a living.  In the meanwhile, best of luck!!

a. I really actually hope it wasn't a serious post, though the current climate does give the impression that it's easy money.

b. If it is, my apologies, I thought I was just playing along :(

typically for tv royalties (threw BMI) take 9 months to find their way to you. I know nothing about ASCAP so perhaps someone else can help there.

Re:I have Sonar X1, now how sell my music 2010/12/28 18:36:18 (permalink)
we dont want to rip you off  ...    we are all just a little tickled at these posts..   honestly  speaking (at least for me) I didn't think you were serious..  my apologies..   if you was, then you really have a lot to learn about the music biz.

first,  the best way to make a small fortune in the music biz.  is to start with a large one.
i dont understand why or how anyone would think you could spent 10 mins. in session drummer and autotuna  and make a hit that every other X1 owner can't do in 10 mins.  if it was that easy,  we all would have been making hit records  since pro audio.  (several years ago)
you apparently dont know alot about music production.  i'll give ya a couple tips to help get started.

firgure out what you want to do.  make money is not an answer.  we make music, not money.

establish a target listener. from age -  to -.

when you are recording, only use  presets for a starting point, not a solution.

copyright your song/cd  bout $50 ea.  if done online

after you get your song recorded and mixed to your likeing, have it mastered  ( mastering is the difference between sounding like a garage band or a headliner)

market it in a way that will be most attractive to you target listener.  (give them a reason why they should give you money for it)

as a artist or production/post production person you have to offer something that is unique.  your sound or style of doing things.

its not as easy as lets record a song, and wait for the masses to come runnig to the door with cash in hand.     you first have to find them and get them to listen to your music. then if they like it enough they will pay you for it.

i think the avg. for roylties is like 7.4 cents a copy for cd's and less than that for radio..
and remember your competing with people like sony and warner bros.  aerosmith and brittney spears..   is your music written that well?  does the audio quality sound as good?    if not then make notes as to what changes need to be made to compete on a national / intrnational level.      if you can do all that  the money will find you..     thats when you get the  "file-export- cash" button..

guys?  that about right  for a brief summery of what we do?
