I have to say...
sometimes I'm just dumbfounded by this place. Imagine...a forum for people that use software to get information or ask for help and some guy decides to post that he just loves his software...and another guy joins in but his view is not the same...he has trouble with it...so they hammer him to the point he apologizes and leaves. Unfriggin' believable. I can understand a carpenter having a favorite hammer but if he stands up on the lunchroom table and starts proclaiming his love for it...well I know I'm keeping my distance from that guy...now to imagine a bunch of people in the lunchroom jumping on the table with him and raising hell with anybody that has had trouble with their hammer!.....well that's some weird and crazy sh!t to me. Ok team....cheerleader try-outs....get up there on the table.............and kick the teeth in of the first one that has a problem with it. Friggin' jerks. I know better than to go upstairs...I'm sorry...it's my fault...I should have known not to complain..........................like hell. **** 'em and the snake they rode in on. I need to make a change. The suck is creating a ****ing vacuum that just takes the good out of it.

It's saddening to witness the Fboys making a sport of rubbing salt in wounds. I recorded some guys playing electric string band music last night. I tapped my foot. It reminded me that most musicians don't use a CPU gadget to make music. I feel refreshed. Rx: Grab your acoustic and soothe your soul for a few days? best regards, mike

If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. I don't think I could love a hammer, but a screwdriver - now that's a different story! I'd love a screwdriver (with a splash of cranberry please).
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

I have several hammers for various different purposes. Did you ever notice that fanboys look like nails?
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

A copy of the message posted by "another guy with a different view" in the positive sonar thread:-
"Some of you, not all, are forgetting that for some, including me, Sonar is completely un usable. People who leave do it publicly in a desperate attempt to feel heard. Cake are completely silent. We have spent money, time, blood sweat and tears trying to sift through the endless possibilities of what could be causing the issues. We have tried. If sonar works for you, you're lucky. Be graceful with your good fortune and thankful. Spare a thought for those of us who feel cheated, alone, drained, angry and powerless and keep your smug opinions to yourselves. Shame on you."

Whatever abuse he subsequently got for that, I think he probably deserved it.

Smug seems like the perfect descriptive of the class of Fboys that make sport upstairs. Some of those guys are smart enough to know how to behave better but they are just evil little maggots and some of those guys seem dumb enough to enjoy their hubris with a sincere delight. They have evolved to act like automatons and they usually serve to emphasize the "lose" in a lose/lose situation. It seems pitiful, I've had dogs that display better character than some of the characters here can muster. best regards, mike

So two wrongs make a right. That's if you think that he was wrong and they weren't "smug opinions", which you obviously do...and that's fine by me. Of course I don't hang out at the GM dealership repair shop walking around in the lobby with all the folks trying to get their vehicles repaired and stand on a table telling all of them how perfect my GM truck is. I do believe a smug ( and is being extremely nice) person would. I hope that should I ever become a braggart about my hammer that I would have at the least constructed something with it so at least it may indicate that I indeed, without doubt, knew what a good hammer was all about. Should I become a braggart and need to support my stance by participating in "mob" mentality then I hope that the hammer will somehow become magically possessed knowing to knock me in the head hard enough to at least shut me up. Said all I have to say and like the kid from the UK....should have kept my mouth shut anyway.

There really are some very angry people on here. And childish, too. The reactions to my post look similar to the reactions to the chap upstairs.
I made no comment on this post, just quoted it here to let people decide for themselves. In the thread I only commented that I enjoyed Sonar, and it worked well for me. I did not enter into anything after that.
I have never seen a hammer; it shows what different social circles we move in.

The way I see it Spacey is like this......... If I walked into a room where people were already having a conversation about how much they happen to like something and my opening attempt to join in with the conversation was ....."you're all a bunch of smug bastards, how dare you like something that I don't, stop talking about it right now!" .......I would expect to cop a bit of abuse for that. That's what the guy did.

Nobody attacked anyone. Nobody called anyone a name. Nobody had a conversation on the quality of the people that have problems with Sonar. And no one refereed to the CH as if it were on another planet. In fact the CH was never brought up. Here we have people attacking people and being smug about it. Yet no one here has tried to stop the name calling. Or correct the mis-characterization of the tone of the thread. But you all see it as if you have been exonerated. That this place is above the petty discussions that go on in the Sonar forum. The bigger the lie the more people believe it.

I'm just a Bubba, but it seems to me that the world is large enough to allow space for each of us to have our own opinions and views. Just because we don't agree on every little thing is no reason to attack somebody. If we're so insecure and pathetic that we can't stand to hear another person's viewpoint or opinion, we should probably seek professional help. If the only way we can enjoy our forum is to eliminate anyone who thinks differently, this will be a very small and lonely island on the Internet. It's not tolerance. It's called common courtesy and mutual respect. It's the minimum expected of children. I think they'd be ashamed of us.

Hi, Heck, I would like to punch somebody but it wwon't help ... Microsoft "Support" folks have already spent 7 hours on the issue on my complaint ... and they still do not have it fixed! Good thing I did support for a long time and understand some of the frustrations, but today will be my 3rd day on the phone with the turkeys ... I simply do not think that these folks are trained strongly enough to be able to help ... this one appears to be a bug in the code having to do with the Homegroup/Network issue. I can see the computer and access theShared folders with a set IP, but not in the regular setup as it states you don't have the necessary permissions and so forth! Just tiresome, when you see bad code! Ohh excuse me ... DAW's are safe and you can't Fellini on them ... or should I say Intervista on them?
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

The best part about the "Loving SONAR" thread is that it led me Dayla's music page where he posts examples of the music he has made with SONAR Home Studio. I really enjoyed how fresh and open his tunes were. I made a post about how much I enjoyed it and tried to express how I really admired the *at-face-value* aesthetic he is sharing with the world. It felt like I was listening to someone's art and I dug it. best regards, mike
