I'm Running Win 7 64bit and it Crashed a dozen times last night .... Seems when I selected multible tracks and did some group adjustments on a pro channel module or if I when to another screen set while X2 was playing then it Crashed . I really like X2 but those Crashes gotta get solved bad!
I'm also running Win7x64, with SONAR X2 Producer x64. The little bit of playing I did with it yesterday didn't produce any crashes. HOWEVER, the little bit of playing I did with it today produced at least 3 crashes within maybe a half an hour, and it was similar to what bobgassert outlines above. In particular, I was trying to have a listen to the Console Emulator's effect on a mix, so I'd select all tracks in the mix (one that I'd originally created a year or so back in X1, but modified a day or so ago in X2 so I could try out some of the new toys) and use Ctrl-Click to turn the Console Emulator off in those (as an aside, I'm not sure if this is working -- I could have sworn it was earlier, but it doesn't seem to be working the simpler test case mentioned below), then I'd go to the bus pane, with the idea of turning the Console Emulator off there. One time, I think I had selected both buses in the project, and I was going to try to see if I could select all the tracks at the same time (after some further testing I don't think you can), too, and I clicked on one of the tracks to start the selection and got a crash. Another time, after turning the Console Emulator off in the tracks, I believe I went to each bus and separately turned the Console Emulator off there, then I tried to start playback, and it crashed. I think another time may have been after turning off the track Console Emulators, then trying to do that with the buses, but the grouping didn't work, so I turned the one that wasn't off off, and then it crashed. I don't think playback was going at that point in the third case, and it wasn't in the second case, either, but it may have been going in the first case.
None of these crashes gave an opportunity to send info to Cakewalk for logging, so I'm guessing it wasn't something SONAR could trap. I looked at the Windows Event Editor's application log, and two of the three (the first and last -- not 100% sure I've got the order of crashes correct above, though), had an unknown area for the crash, while the middle one mentioned NTDLL.DLL. The NTDLL.DLL one reminds me of some crashes I've seen in the past related to KONTAKT, but there is no KONTAKT in this project. (There are two instances of EastWest's 64-bit Play engine, one of Garritan's 64-bit ARIA engine, one of the 64-bit version of Toontrack's EZdrummer, and one of the 64-bit version of MusicLab's RealGuitar 3. There are also a bunch of audio plug-ins, though most of those, other than a few instances of Channel Tools, were bypassed in the FX bin so I could play with FX in ProChannel, where I had several PC modules, including Console Emulators in all 7 tracks and both buses and a couple instances of BReverb, among others.)
I tried separately to create a simple project to see if I could reproduce the crash in something that could be provided as a test case, but thus far I haven't had any luck getting the simpler project to crash.
