no, they weren't the greatest band ever and they never recorded at those frequencies. I drank with the roadie and he said "impossible." so I don't know what you're talking about. how's that? still missing it? lol :)

The coffee house was a seperate forum for Cakewalk customers to talk freely about whatever they wanted to, ie...religion, politics, music, whatever. It was sometimes very contentious but also very interesting. When they got rid of it my post count went way down. That's where I spent most of my forum time and interacted with others the most. Anyway, I guess I waste less time now. Since I don't often have Sonar related questions, and I don't often have answers to the questions of others, I don't post much.

ORIGINAL: Mike Fisher ORIGINAL: Brad Russell Anybody feel the same way? Yep...when everyone kept it fun and light. When it got ugly, it got ugly though. It helped keep OT stuff out of this forum, too. While some of the later posts disagree, I thought it was fun while it lasted. There were clearly a couple of trolls who just wanted to bring it down and they did. It was fun (for me) talking with musicians about generic topics. I have (IMHO) noted that other music forums that have a "coffeehouse" kind of vibe really need to be policed well.... Cake wasn't willing to do that and it became very ugly. Oh well, guess I stick to the even uglier Philadelphia Eagles Forum....otherwise known as TATE (Talk About the Eagles!!) Man, talk about bitter and hostile!! (even when they win )
Talk is cheap; supply outweighs the demand. Light travels faster than sound, that's why some people look bright before you hear them speak. Jerry Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys, Andy Reid owns them!!

I still can't figure out why they got rid of it. It was hugely popular - as I remember it got about equal the amount of discussion as the main recording forum. The demise of the coffeehouse probably has something to do with money or lawyers or both. Doesn't it always? Ian

Those two were hilarious. It turned into an epic battle between good and evil, order and chaos, loud newcomers and the good 'ol boys. I get almost teary-eyed with nostalgia when I remember the cries to Cakewalk from members threatening to leave if someone doesn't get banned and won't they be sorry when that happens etc...And nobody would quite cross that line, the line that gets you booted, even though some people were likely having aneurisms they took it so seriously. Jolly good fun it was, but alas, to all good things come an end. I figured another couple of months and everyone would have group-hugged and sang Kumbaya...we'll never know. Good times.
