I have a very similar setup to yours see below:
Rock Solid for me.  I have friends with thier builds confused with enby in regard to the cost and performance.  The SSD makes a big difference.  I use mine for the OS/Audio apps/VST.. I used my 2TB for other data and content.

I think that you have made a good choice and if you feel that you need an extra kick without addtitional cost..  these boards stats can easily be modified to run beyond stock.  Especially with the 2600k.. I believe that you will enjoy the headroom the system gives.. I know that I am...

But I'm not surprised any more...."

Sonar Platinum Pro- Win 10 64- I7 6800k - Asus - 32gb DDR4-SB ZX sound card (cd output to mixer)- Toshiba 960gb SSD (OS - Audio APPs)- 4TB Seagate (Storage/ App Content)- M-Audio Keystation 88 Pro - Akai MPD 232 - Zed R16 - PT 12 - A&H QU 24- Axiom 61 - XD 80usb

A side note...

I upgraded my friends computer from 4 to 15 GB RAM. I noticed a huge loss of hard drive space on C the OS drive. Windows was reserving 15 GB for the page file and another 15 GB for the hibernation file. That's 30 GB to run Windows with default settings. Rediculous! No idea what MS is thinking. Anyways, found out how to turn of hibernation which I've never used anyways and got back 15 GB. I let MS manage the page file and just took the hit on the 15 GB page file. But this kind of garbage is exactly why I hate MS.

Thought mention that for your new build.

You can change the amount for pagefile,I ave mine at 2.5 GB,thats all thats really needed.

Dear OP did you look at the link for Scott from ADK's assumption that "Ivy is not worth waiting for"??

Guess not. Certain builders also ain't too fond of ASUS either, but who cares? Roight?

Umm, not sure where you're going with this - but, yes, I've called my distrib to discuss all that ;)

Another thing I thought of that many people don't do with a new board (often the manufacturers as well) is to check out the EMPTY slots are all working once you are up and running.

For example if you only have one bank of memory populated at purchase time check out the memory in the slots for the other bank too.  PCIe slots are they all working?  PCI too if fitted and you plan on using them ever.  USB headers and drive sockets too are all worth checking on delivery.

It's pretty straightforward usually to swap out a board which is DOA, the returns process seems to get more complicated if you want to add another 12Gb or PCIe card a year or so down the line when you find out one of the slots is kaput at that time.

Static is a killer too, even when the damage doesn't show up straight away, it only costs a few bucks to get armed with an anti-static wrist band in the first place.

if your rig is earthed you can discharge static by touching the chassis - is that still ot?
