I put my taskbar on the top of the screen to liven things up a bit
A change is as good as a holiday, right? Seriously though I got sick of reaching for things at the bottom of the screen and having my taskbar appear when I didn't want it to. So I put it at the top. This is going to take a long time to get used to. It's what I imagine wearing those glasses which make everything upside down is like.

Why not try the side? I've had mine on the side for years. Screens are wider than they are tall so I want as much of the vertical space that I can get!

Why not try the side? I've had mine on the side for years. Screens are wider than they are tall so I want as much of the vertical space that I can get!
I tried the left side first, but found that the icons I usually have on the left side of the screen made it look messy under the transparency. I then tried it on the right but didn't like the fact that my mouse pointer could miss and end up on the 2nd monitor. Too much accuracy required. With it at the top, I can just slam the mouse up there.

I always had my taskbar onto on the PC - seems much more ergonomic to me. That and all my desktop icons neatly tucked into a drop down menu.

Buttermilk pancakes with two overeasy fried eggs on top is incredible.. Becan is of course part of the deal. You cut the eggs up an let the yolks runs all over stack, then I cut the pancakes into I" squares... add syrup and eat until about to pop! Tomorrow is French toast day... covered with 10x powered sugar and then syrup.. I'll eat 5 or 6 slices.. with BECAN!!! Both Grand daughters here with me tomorrow. 100% chance of rain. Food and TV. When I was growing up my mom fixed me three pancakes with and egg on top EVERY morning. My pancakes are WAY better though. I use buttermilk and slather both sides with plenty of real butter. The butter is the missing ingredient in most pancakes. We have been using Craig's baking method for cooking becan and it is the best! BTW, I tried moving my taskbar a couple of times but I got the "old dog/new tricks" thing... maybe I'll try it again just so's I can be part of the "in crowd". J

No pancakes... no becan..
Cinnamon Toast.... white bread, liberal spread of butter, thick layer of refined cane sugar, sprinkle of cinnamon. Broil until all is bubbling together into a sweet glaze. Whole chicken in the crockpot cooking in about 1/2 cup of Martinelli's apple juice. Seasoned up just right with a little salt and pepper and rosemary from the garden. I may cook some creamed white corn to go with it. OK.. ok... some green beans with a slice of becan.

Try this sometime. Start with:  Dip them into:  Fry them in a pan:  Add some powdered sugar and plenty of syrup along with plenty of becan.

Problem for me is windows always wants to revert things back to default. Even just arranging desktop icons a certain way never stays put for long. So I gave up.

I've had my Taskbar up top since Win95 along with a custom folder (now a custom Toolbar in Win 8.1) in the Start Menu for my favorite applications organized just the way I like them. Someone asked me once why I did that and I replied: "I'm trying to raise the bar."
I have my Taskbar disappear when not needed and I have one Shortcut on my Desktop, the Recycle Bin, and it would not be there if I could move/delete it to somewhere else.

There are several tips out there on how to remote the Recycle Bin from the desktop (depending on what version you're running). A quick search should get you a 20 second solution.

Well that shouldn't happen at all. I've never had Windows revert a setting, and my desktop icons have always stayed where I've put 'em!

Since I don't eat dairy any more I've taken to eating the simplest of fruit salads - some chopped strawberries, bananas, pears and mangoes. I've found you really don't need cream or yogurt. Once in a while I'll go nuts and mix in a small spoonful of cashew-milk ice cream.
