I just have to comment on this.
Reece got involved in the forums just a few months after I did. We have tag-teamed many threads over the years, especially in the Music Creator forum.
When I lost my job, and my home in Colorado two years ago this month, Reece and his wife invited us to stay with them if we were inclined to consider Fort Worth.
We took them up on it (my wife and I). We stayed in their home for three months, and finally saved up enough to move out on our own. We're doing fine now, but that time was a Godsend.
To top it off, James secretly started a fund on our behalf. Numerous forum members contributed, and it made a huge difference while we got on our feet.
Those of you that have been around for a while know the story. For the new folks, we may seem cliquish, but these guys are the real deal. The best friends I've never met.
Reece is a man of conviction. He may not always be "nice", but he does and says what he feels is right. Sometimes right means calling someone on BS.
The specific behavior mentioned put many of us off on the songs forum for a while.
I have to admit, I was somewhat relieved to see that X had been banned, and a bit dismayed that X returned under another alias.
That said, he's still annoying, but quite harmless.
The main reason I don't post much in the songs forum these days is simply from the lack of time and energy.
Sorry if this rambles too much. just a lot of stray thoughts.

since this is a new subject - I feel the need to comment.  this in bold from you is completely out of line and it violates the TOS.  regardless of how upset you are, profanity and personal attacks are against the TOS.

I remember this Rob. And I know he's been helpful and generous. He's help me out here a few times.  You Have too. (JV2080) And I also know of other things he's done as well. I still don't like the comment as it stands. I saw that tapped onto a joke and I said to myself "who the hell says that". I react when I see stuff like that and it doesn't matter who says it. I react for the same reason people say they're mad about from the previous incident that caused him too say that to begin with.  I don't like hearing that members of the songs forum are being conspired against. iI probably should have pm him, but you know.. it happened quick.

That's nice. You should be proud of yourself.  No more whining threads about how you're comments are received then I guess.

I'm way to belligerent to get strong armed by someone who just "policed" one of the nicest guys I've met at the forum.
 
That's just your opinion. Start a thread and whine about it. A lot of equally nice guys catch real crap out here as well.
A generalized comment about getting rid of members is what  it is and I commented on it. He didn't deny it.  I understand you want to be defensive for Beagle. Maybe I felt like sticking up for the songs forum and the people that post out there.
 
I'm not harassing you Mike. I just think you made a shallow comment.   It's easier to do that for you than say anything substantial. I like Beagle and have for three years. I still do.  
I won't lose sleep over this but it's very interesting to see that JB is the only one here at least that's mentioned that he understands where my comment came from. I understand where beagles came from. Some others made great comment as well IMO.  And I appreciate the humorous attempts to break up the negativity. Bubba and Bapu seem to be all over that.
 
I'm not good friends with people out here in the CH the way that Steve explained above. I come out and comment ocassionally as I please and will continue to do so. I do very much enjoy the songs forum and all it members. When people light torches behind the scenes and say things for the benefit of certain ears. That's thier right. But it says a lot about thier charachter as well. At least to me.

Oh and why don't you spend a minute and learn how to post and respond to a quote. Hint, try the "Outdent" button.

no.  it's not.  I did not name any names, I made a general statement that you blew way out of proportion.  and now you're attacking other members with profanity.  you are out of line.

I enjoyed that guitar vid thread a lot.  So I through a little medicine at him. Do what ever you want Reece but don't chuck this particular instance as being a good guy. You want BS to end on this site.  Show a little humilty yourself because your not perfect either. first off, thank you to all of you who were "defending me" and lifting me up.  I appreciate it.

2nd - rhyno - I said I was thru discussing this with you and I am, but I feel I owe you an apology for the jab about the "bash 10Ten" thread.  you didn't see it so that wasn't fair.  I apologize for that.  on the rest of it I have nothing more to say because I've already said what I wanted to and don't need to drag this out any further.

on a related subject, however, Mike McCue does have a very valid point about learning how to use the quote system of the forum.  your posts are VERY difficult to read when you try to quote someone and don't use the formatting correctly.  it would make things easier on all of us if you could resolve that.

Bub - I am not angry at you for speaking your mind (I'm not angry with you at all - nor am I angry at rhyno or anyone else here).  I read your first post before you changed it (this is one thread I did subscribe to, even tho I normally don't do that).  in fact I haven't read it since you've changed it.  if you thought you were giving me a revelation about being judgmental then I'm sorry, I've already known that for many years.  yes, I'm judgmental.  I have opinions and I will state them, right or wrong.  sometimes I am wrong and if someone convinces me I'm wrong I'll apologize and move on.   here's another news flash for you, I'm also arrogant, pious and self-righteous.  yes, I know that as well.  these aren't qualities that I think are becoming, but I'm an imperfect human living in this imperfect world among other imperfect humans.  If you interact with me then you'll have to deal with my imperfectness.

further, tho, you have a couple of things wrong and I'll point them out and let you decide if you want to believe them or not because you do have the right to decide for yourself what to believe.  first thing you got wrong is that I don't pick and choose which posts I "call out" based on who wrote them.  yes, I DO pick and choose and some things I call out and some things I don't, but my criteria is not based on who said it, contrary to your belief.  my criteria is based on whether I think it's worth the battle or not.  I get fatigued with some battles such as this one.  Honestly, I don't like conflict!!!!!!!  I will always avoid it if I can!  but sometimes I have to pick my battles and decide to say something to someone about their posts.   that's the criteria - I don't let it go when a clique friend of mine says it - I let it go if it's below my threshold of battle pain.  believe it or not.

the next thing you got wrong was that I am well aware that I am not indispensable.  Yes, I am arrogant, but I'm not stupid.  this site will get by just fine without me and has in the past - I've taken a couple of sebbaticals from it before.  I probably will again when I feel like I am hurting more than I'm helping.  that time might be now - or soon.

the next thing you got wrong was that I have NEVER said that I believe I am a nice guy.  I challenge you to find a thread where I have said that.  it might take a while to search through all 32,000+ posts, but you'll not find it there.  others have called me nice and I have done a lot of nice things and I treat most users nicely.  but I've never called myself nice, so whatever you think that I think of myself, I believe you are incorrect on this count.

the last thing you got wrong is that I did not threaten to leave if people don't post the way I want them to post.  that's pretty absurd.  I clearly stated that I probably was the one who needed a break from the forum because I can't seem to live up to other's expectations of me.  how you derived that meant I was threatening to leave if they didn't think my way I will never understand.  believe that or not.

anyway, I want to thank each of you for your contributions to this most entertaining and emotionally draining thread, but I *think* I'm finished with it - I know I would like to be.

Beagle. I didn't see this until just now. I apologize as well.  I could have pmed you and told you how I felt on the side. You know I spend my time in the songs forum. And you know I don't get vocal like this either. I just saw that and said to myself this upstairs stuff ...that I honestly.... have only heard of down here is going to leak down to the songs forum. It's kinda of ironic that that's where it came from. I really like all the regular people in there and find it such a positive place 98% of the time. I got defensive in a quick snap. Im a very positive guy Reece and I have a hard time disliking most people. I've said what I have to with regards to that.  But I never meant to offend you  or put you in a bad light. Well initially. maybe after I  pushed the comment thing harder as a statement from you literally and that wasn't cool. I know how to use the quote system. Thanks tho.  Buried.
