I think my metronome is broken...

I mean it couldn't possibly be ME going off time. Nope. I'm perfect. Must be the metronome.

Hi,

Oooh, you DAW folks and your metronomes...I have 300,000 albums and not one metronome on any of them, or notes, or chords..just..and this is difficult to say on a board like this where everyone worships Top 40 and no-one gives a shameal, shamozzle, Hotzenpfeffer Incorporated..umm..what was I saying?..oh yeah,..naaah, Bapu in 200 Motels, no metronomes in that either, or Head...no head? Just 3 blind mice, how did that happen, someone leave a piece of cheese on a lathe?....just plug your bass into the engine of a Honda C90, drives backwards across the Irish Stew in the name of the law and tell me then if you can feel..or sea, isn't it? No metronomes when we were small boys, jumpers for goalposts, one's gone home for his tea, beans on toast, enduring image, hmmm?,...most folks here will, or won't..ever not know that experience, including the CHB!!

Anyway, this is a real pain in my butt. I got everything all set up properly (finally) and figured out how to record my padKontrol live, bought a fancy new MIDI kit patch thingy and was busting out some WICKED SICK BEATS!!! Then I tried to record something along side the metronome and could barely keep a single hi hat track in time. Derp.

There's your problem.

It's BEATZ not BEATS.

I like to lay down, grooves, beatz and loops

Naw. I'm just not used stuff being in perfect robot time. Imma gonna have to practice with it. Gotta find a better ping noise too. All the ones programmed in are very distracting and abrasive.

@bayoubill... Iknorite?! I shouldn't even have to play anything. Just press a button, walk away for a few hours and come back to a hit record that will last through the ages. IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK FOR?!

Mine works that way.

What are your specs?

Are you using a sound blaster?

What are your buffers set at?

Did you read the manual and follow the tutorials?

I've never met anybody who has recorded 300,000 albums  ... that would mean you released an album everyday for the last 822 years or so.  I am impressed.

By the way Beeps. Did you not read the Techniques fred about real musicians?

They don't need autotune and surely a real musician does not need a metronome.
