Downloaded and installed the latest version without any issues via the Bandlab 4.0 Assistant app. I did need to log out and log back in for the latest CbB update to show up.

Version 2018.11Features & Enhancements
Export Control Bar module for fast access to common file export operations
Publish to BandLab, with options for full mix, track stems, or bus stems, and full support for project revisions
Updated BREVERB 2 Cakewalk full VST plug-in
Updated version of Overloud TH3 that is fully compatible with Cakewalk by BandLab
Project load optimizations, including faster load times of large multitrack projects and projects that contain many AudioSnap transient markers
UI optimizations, including faster track scrolling and navigation in big projects
Smaller update installer that will only copy the necessary files required for a given update (only able to install over the previous release version; full installer available when updating from older versions)

Bug Fixes
Slip stretching (CTRL+SHIFT+drag) is not possible with Edit tool
Cannot preview M4A/MPEG-4 audio files in Media Browser
Crash on project load using 2018.09 build 29
Closing toast notification for VST Scan should hide further toasts until scan completes
Potential crash and incorrectly mapped parameters when opening Craig Anderton FX chain that uses Overloud TH3

I noticed these two new feature items in the latest update, and was wondering if they would replace any unlocked Overloud versions we might already have installed with newer locked to "Cakewalk only" plugins:

Updated BREVERB 2 Cakewalk full VST plug-in
Updated version of Overloud TH3 that is fully compatible with Cakewalk by BandLab

Some of us took advantage of Overloud's limited time special offer to Sonar users last year, for free unlock codes to these previous bundled Overloud Cakewalk edition plugins.  With the demise of Cakewalk we were wondering if we would be able to continue to use these plugins in other DAWs.  Overloud graciously helped us out with this.

So right now I can open these plugins in any DAW i choose, but I am afraid that this update could lock them down again.

Any advice?

DAW: CbB; Sonar Platinum, and others ...

Re: I think we have a new update! 2018/12/06 16:11:33 (permalink)
Today's download experience here?

Successful, but a bit difficult...

I opened Bandlab Assistant and attempted to update it.... The update failed... Couldn't close the app... Forcing it closed showed the app running as well as multiple (3) entries under processes and attempting to close them continued to open more to a total of (i think) 6...

So I went to bandlab from my browser and downloaded Bandlab Assistant allowing it to over-write the earlier version... It opened fine and allowed me to download the CbB update with no problem...

2018.11 is now running here...

Many Thanks!

Re: I think we have a new update! 2018/12/06 16:57:36 (permalink)
Also getting Bandlab Assistant update failure (shame as it worked for the last few updates).
Bitdefender firewall says it allowed BA access so that's not it (unless BD is being untruthful).
Now trying the manual download/install for BA.

UPDATE: Manual download/install of BA did the trick. New version of CbB installed v quickly and running fine so far.
Sig updated   Thanks Bakers!

Also have the same concerns as abacab due to owning full TH3 and BREVERB.

I just did the manual download and install and it worked fine.

I'm also using bitdefender on the machine so it might be related.

Hey guys, have you tried installing from the site or any previous installers that may be on your machine? Try from here: https://www.bandlab.com/download/assistant/windows
This worked for me.

Not using bitdefender here yet it still failed to update and ran a number if processes when attempted.

As I posted earlier, a fresh download of BA quickly solved the problem...

I got the failed message as well.
Go to settings:apps and uninstall it.
Go to Bandlab website , re-downlaod it and re-install fresh.
Works great again.
I'm very suspicious of sneaky Windows updates that, perhaps in tiny ways, upset these little apps big style.

Wow the update process was very quick and easy... Amazing!

The new control bar module seems to have some cramped/overlapping text though, the words 'project' and 'selection' are obscured (quite a long project, can provide screenshots if interested)
