The gear in the upper left or F1 when the UI has focus should bring up the help file.

Just gave the new limiter a spin. Damn, it's good. The final piece that makes SONAR a truly do-it-all package.

Ozone fans, don't despair; your solution still has tricks that Adaptive Limiter doesn't (at least for now) so you needn't regret the money you spent. But for those without Ozone, your envy level can now drop a few notches.

Pro-L users, of course, already know they can do no better and that still holds true. Even if you don't have the running LUFS value that AL offers.

But considering Adaptive Limiter holds its own among the best (that are available to me for comparison) and is bundled with SONAR... that easily makes it the bargain of the year. Good job, guys!

One minor complaint: there does not appear to be a way to type in specific values for any parameters. It would be nice if double-clicking the Ceiling value would set focus to a textbox (like Ozone and Pro-L) instead of popping the value up to 0.0 dB.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Hi BF...

It's working fine here. I single click on the value opens the window for value editing...

Ooops... Now I see what you're referring to the threshold and output levels don't seem to allow it... Yes, It would be very handy to have that too!

Something I just noticed this morning: TH3 will not run in the preview version if you don't update the Boutique FX package. It'll come up in demo mode and tell you the demo period has expired.

Just want to add…
This is the most useful and knowledgeable forum going, and the expanded role C.A. has taken both here and with sonar itself is icing on the cake (sorry, couldn't resist)… you are both product evangelist and user evangelist, tough line to walk, but you do it elegantly. I, we,  appreciate it!

I've still to receive the update. In the meanwhile, I combined the mixture of a Multiband equaliser, Harmonic Maximiser and a Limiter on the end of the chain which uses the K-Scale as a meter (which is kind of like LUFS).

I have computer stuff.

@Keith Albright

cause it's possible to (Ctrl) Click and Copy a Clip and place it anywhere and Ripple Edit moves the rest of the clips I Thought it should be possible to just grab a clip and insert it anywhere.

So, just for understanding! for Copy I can use the mouse, but not for Cut, Insert and Move.

What are these gestures for ripple Edit??

Thanks;)
Bassman.

I'm already working with Ripple Editing all the time and it saves me so much time.
For example a digitazed tape with 3 hours is for 2 hours empty. I only need to cut at the end of the recorded hour and the hole with the 2 empty hours is also deleted. The next tape recording does not follow after a hole of 2 hours, because the hole is deletet. The next tape recording comes directly behind it.
But I notice that there must be the possibility to quickly turn it on and off. With the absolutely necessary of a feedback if the function is on or off. Because I constantly have to turn it off and on at work.
The shortcut for on and off is fine - but the feedback if "on or off" is missing.

We digitize tapes, vinyl, dat, md ... in broadcast and studio quality for publishers, public institutions and individuals.
4 x Intel Quad-CPU, 4GHz Sonar Platinum (Windows 10 - 64Bit) and 14 computers for recording tapes, vinyl ...

4 x RME Fireface 800, 2 x Roland Octa Capture and 4 x Roland Quad Capture, Focusrite .... Studer A80, RP99, EMT948 ...

I'm really interested in the upcoming pen support and it has the potential to change the way I work.

What hardware will I need?

Currently I have a desktop PC with two Dell monitors that are not touch enabled. However I do have an iPad Pro and today at work a colleague discussed duet which allows an iPad to be used as a second monitor for a PC. If I got a pen would this work with Sonar?

I also noticed that this early release update has totally fixed another very annoying problem I was having. I am not sure this was intended, but I am very happy about it.

The problem: When chopping up real recorded audio drum tracks for quantizing, selecting all the clips, then pressing "Q" for quantize, SONAR would lose the selection and only quantize one or two "columns." I would have to close SONAR down completely, start up again, then I would get one chance to get it to work correctly.

Now: It works as expected every time. This is a huge relief! Also it seems more responsive and snappier. This update is a very huge one and is making a massive difference for me. Thank you Cakewalk!

I've really enjoyed reading this thread...it's interesting to see what is coming in the May release and I'll be very excited when I get it.

Maybe an idea to consider moving back to using names for the updates.

Today it is June and I'm looking forward to the May update... Perhaps using numbers raises expectations and you possibly don't need the pressure...

Keep up the good work

The problem is not the name but the timing of the release. It may be clearer if the releases were timed for the beginning of the month instead of the end. This way any updates for the release would also occur in the same month.

I'm not sure I see a difference.

Also, I think Cakewalk deliberately called the releases this year by number, i.e. "2017.05" instead of "May 2017". It's the fifth release in 2017. The fact it arrives in June (theoretically) just means this one took a bit longer to bake. I'm fine with that...
