IK's ARC is very cool.

OK, WOW. W-O-W

Got the ARC and set up with 32 samples for my primary listening position. What a HUGE difference I'm hearing. d-a-m-n I've been dabbling with a jam session mix from a few weeks ago. Sloppy playing aside, this is sounding pretty darn good. :)

I really don't think I had phase issues, but this plugin seems like it corrected a phase issue. The guitar moved from deep in the center to a little bit forward and a hair to the left; the cymbals have come alive. The snare has more snap. The drums in general seem to take up more space in a good way.

As a guitar player, I've heard the term "like taking a blanket off the speakers" used many, many times for describing many.many things - mostly when descripting installing new pickups, and yeah that's what it seems like with a good pickup upgrade.

It's very much like that for your whole mix.

Very cool, and well worth the money so far.

I look forward to burning a few CDs and testing them in the car and in other locations.

Yeah, another satisfied customer here too.
Not as good as doing an actual full room treatment but for those of us that just don't have the space and/or dedicated room for recording, this thing does wonders.

    +1 ARC is great.

Kudos to Danny Danzi for convincing me to buy it.

I paid nearly double than what you can get it for today and I'm not even regretful. It's worth that much.

    I'm on board too....

You probably already know this.... but don't make the same mistake I made.....

I set it up, turned it on.... and exported the mix. Wrong........ Nope.... turn it off to export. duhhh

I also made a few other "oooops events" in the setup..... but that is all remedied now.

I wasn't sure how much of a difference it would make. I do have a fully treated room that sounds great, but even so the ARC made a huge difference. I was also quite surprised at the differences between my left and right speakers (Behringer Truths), and how the ARC was able to accomodate this.

It's just really cool to sit listening to some reference material (Pink Floyd anyone?) and click the bypass button off and on... WOW :)

Some advice Danny Danzi gave me was to stop doing that. We need to train our ears to listen to ARC full time through our monitors.

The main draw back that I can see is that when you play back a mix that has been exported, either on a CD or from SoundCloud or YouTube, etc, it is essentially like listening to your mix with ARC disengaged and tends to be confusing. The alternative, as far as i can tell, is don't listen to any of your exported mixes in your studio. Kind of a drag... ----------------------- I read somewhere, a while ago, of a device and configuration that allows for ARC to be patched into a system so that all of the audio passes thru it 24/7, but it was a bit convoluted from what i recall.

Audacity Winamp can be setup to use ARC. If your system is setup to play WAVs and mp3s with Audacity Winamp (via ARC) you're golden.

Here's the downside, IMO. You don't want to listen an ARC playback thru headphones so you'd need to take steps to "open with" vs double clicking on an mp3 or WAV when using headphones.

When in SONAR and using headphones I simply have to remember to turn off ARC.

personally I can't stand iTunes because of the bloatware they have on your sytems and especially memory resident programs (not just one!).

but there's a way to use ARC with winamp.

Winamp sounds interesting. I think it is the thing I read about a while ago and didn't quite understand the implementation of it. Can some explain how they use it? That would be very helpful. Thanks.

     I love ARC as well.

If your recording interface has any EQ or bass roll off built into the front end,be sure to disengage that as well if you use that channel for the ARC microphone. My Presonus Firestudio has built in tube/LF rolloff and gating.

What do you mean everything apple is lossless?
MP3's and MP4's and AAC's or whatever Apple's proprietary format is, aren't lossless audio, they're all compression formats I thought? A wave file is lossless.
