Still waiting for the JRR shop... :( What's worse is that, after I assumed, based on my luck with drawings that I would NOT get an early chance to buy from Cakewalk I bought from JRR. Then, the next day, I got the notice from Cakewalk that I WAS picked. Sigh... I'm having SUCH a hard time waiting for JRR to send me my code... :) EDIT: within five minutes of posting this, I got my code from JRR shop! Woohoo!

Sweetwater codes arrived as advertised! I'm doing the individual EXE download instead of relying completely on the Command Center (I always keep backup copies of all my installers) - but even with the separate downloads, I have to say this is one of the most well-organized major initial software rollouts that I have been a part of. Redeeming the Sweetwater codes was a snap! GREAT job, Cakewalk!!! Randy

I was able to access and buy 1 second after the note went up that it was available. Won't be able to do much with it this week, maybe next. I believe that qualifies for 'gotta have it'. All of my questions were answered with the new model, and am looking forward to using it soon. I didn't see an option to buy the DVD yet. Either I missed it (quite probable) or it will be moseying along soon. Best Regards to all y'all L

Nice job! That is the fastest, easiest, Installation EVER! All seems to be working. Project imported from X3 just fine! I really love the FX Rack! I also like that you now have to hold down Ctrl to dock plugins! I hated having to hold the Ctrl key to not dock! You guys should have some Cake and celebrate! :) Peace! Leadfoot Just downloaded it. Now I have to wait till I get home to install it.
Important: If you downloaded it on a different machine please note that you will need to install command center on the main machine if you want to activate SONAR. Or alternatively you will have to use the manual offline activation process. Its a much more straightforward and streamlined user experience to use command center to download and install SONAR so I don't recommend downloading from the web and installing it standalone. Another disadvantage to this approach is that Command Center will not know that your product is installed since it won't have it cached. So you wont get accurate update notifications.

As mentioned above this is not recommended. You can do exactly the same thing in Command Center and backup the installers from Command centers' cache.

Well so far it's not working out for me at all. First I opted to pay with PayPal, and when I chose that option it took me to PayPal and I received a message that I was using an out-of-date link to PayPal. So I went back and changed payment option to a credit card. The order went through. I downloaded Command Center, but when I log in, it says I have no products at all (I have many). I also logged into my store account via browser, and all my products are there, but no Sonar Platinum.

[so I don't recommend downloading from the web and installing it standalone. This means taking my DAW all the way to town just to install software??! I guess I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD then. I can't buy it anyhow until someone fixes my store account. http://forum.cakewalk.com/SSO-Log-on-rears-its-ugly-head-STILL-WAITING-m3147334.aspx

Disclaimer, I haven't tried this but I think you could download it using command center on the PC you used and then copy over the whole C3 Cache folder and transfer it to your home machine. That way it will be all synced up on your home PC. Let us know if it works :) At worst it will be no different than downloading externally. Edit: This won't work since C3 will think it needs to redownload again apparently.

Thanks Noel, I'll try that, I'll be using my laptop, I don't do any recording with it anymore it's to wimpy, but I like to install Sonar so I can open it while helping people on the forum. So It's one of the 3 machines I'll be installing it on. The 3rd is just a back up DAW I keep just in case something goes haywire when a client is here. I still might wait for the DVD if we can order those extra. But I still can't pay for nothing until support fixes my Cactus Music account log in. Are they just real busy? It's been since Friday.

I tried downloading thru the Command Center....after 3+ hours it was up to 73%. I get online thru my phone which is usually pretty fast. Finally my phone battery died (even being plugged into the USB port) so I shut everything down and came home. Went to my account page here at home...thru same phone connection. Downloaded the Platinum installer in 15 minutes to my laptop. So command center can't see our products unless they are installed thru C3 ? I'd really rather not have to try the download again since I now have the installer downloaded.

I ordered the boxed version from sweetwater as I have a new computer and slower wi-fi connection. My question is will the CC know that I have installed it from disk? Also will there be any advantage to owning the disk as all the updates will be on the CC, or will I be able to write the updates to disk? (highly unlikely I know)

The main advantage to having it on disk is that you can install it on multiple machines without having to download it every time. You'll be able to save the updates on CD or USB stick.
