Lovely stuff Andy. There's so much going on that the 'ping pong' drifted in and out of my attention, so that worked nicely. Congrats on the inclusion on that compilation.

Hi James

Thanks for having a listen to Ice Caverns

What's going on in the Nettlesmith camp? It's all gone a bit quiet over there at the moment... Are you taking your work on the road yet?

Thanks for asking Andy, we got Tim's parts for 4 new songs recorded a couple of weeks ago. I've been busy getting new DAW and other stuff settled in, but you should be hearing new material in the next few weeks.

If you are going to the ice caverns of Europa, you should bring a canister of oxygen and some hand warmers. And a big flyswatter for those space crickets.

I like the "coldness" of this ambience very much. Thoughtful elements. I could do with just a little less warbly main synth, the upper register one, but everything else was superior. I dug the octave ping pong, they are the drums of this piece.

Wally Badarou? Emil Deodato? If we are throwing out fun comparisons.

really cool listen, thanks!

Hmmm...   this could be one of my favorites from you, Andy.

Great combination of tones coming in and out and evolving as the piece progresses.   I really liked the ultra wide soundscape + the high "plinky" parts.   And yeah, I can really hear Vangelis in this one.... shades of his album with Jon Anderson.    Really good stuff.

Wonderful evolving sounds on this. Very clean, professional mix.
But I gotta be honest ... 8 minutes of essentially one droning chord and no real progression makes for a mind-numbing experience. Perhaps pair it up with some computer animation to help listeners better visualize where you're going with this?

Hi Tom,

I know exactly what you mean, and that has been bugging me a bit too, so I may have to tone down the excessive vibrato on that patch.

Thanks for listening, and as always, I love you comments

cheers

Hi Vanessa,

Thanks for listening

I know what you mean, but some peeps appear to like this kind of stuff, including myself. I know it certainly isn't for everyone.

Thanks for your honest feedback
