Ice Caverns of Europa

Hi Peeps,
 
I created my latest tune a bit ago. I had to keep it "under wraps" until the compilation album it has been included on was released.
 
Ice Caverns of Europa is another ambient drone piece.
 
I was inspired by my recent Arturia V synth purchases, which included the Modular V, ARP 2600 V, CS-80 V, Jupiter V, Mini V and SEM V. So most of these virtual instruments were included in this piece.
 
No guitar this time
 
So, get your pipe and slippers out, and a glass of Shloer, kick back and relax...........

Wow, sounds incredible! I've never been much of a fan of ambient because I'm much too impatient to relax for very long.  This piece, however, held my interest. Really cool stuff! 

My pleasure. There's no questioning your talent in creating something that sounds so, well, delicious is the only word that comes to mind. By the way, I do dig the ping-pong, I rather like thematic oddities like that. This is really good work, Andy. Thanks for posting it.

Andy by instrument/voice break down, I meant what instruments and their voices did you use.

I suppose patience must be a very important virtue when making this style of music - you can't peak too soon.
In ambient music, no-one likes a premature crescendo right?

Note that in the case of this project I only use EQ in the FX bins and all effects are placed in the buss FX bins.
 
Tantra is used on the drones to add a bit of additional cutoff freq beating.
 
All instrument and effect presets were tweaked to varying degrees as required.
 
That was a bit rushed that but is the best I can do in the time that I have.........

Your tunes are always creative and somewhat surprising..
Nothing to say concerning the technical edge,it is beyond my knowledge.

Thank you Andy much appreciated, nice to see so many Modular V's in there I can remember when I could just about get 1 instant to run.

Ha! Yeah... On my previous workstation I'd have been freezing stuff all the way! I did have a few problems, but I think they were to do with the VSTi rather than my DAW.

Maybe, in a 9 min tune, there could be a cavern that differs. Not in harmony but, well... something else!

I know what you mean, and I could have added more bits and pieces for sure, but I tend to get to a point where I just want to hit the "upload" button and get it out there .
