Mine was a 68 Buick Lesaber... I remember happy times in that thing (making like an egg in that big bench seat..) I like your tune, I didn't dig the drum break/change @ 2:15, but different strokes for different folks.

"strokes"

I see what you did there.

Thanks for the listen Robbie.

My first car fit that description quite well. I traded a motorcycle I had for $400 cash and a 61 Ford Comet. It didn't go fast, or look pretty, but it was a car. It fell apart quickly, horn didn't work, brakes pulled, wipers stopped working, and the rear spring got broken while carrying a bunch of kids from the neighborhood to school one morning....seriously overloaded. I pulled the rear seat out so I could load my amp and cabinet in the back.  No way would it pass the upcoming NJ state inspection so the best option for a broke kid was to give it to the scrap yard and buy something else.... $325 later, I had my second car....a station wagon that sounded like a boat. Now I could carry my gear and more. That one ran all the way until after I sold it before leaving for the Marine Corps..... shortly after that, the transmission died on the kid who bought it from me for $100..... so I'm guessing he was on to his second car as well.

Cool trip down memory lane with the song. Thanks.

neat song guys... great story... love the honkin' guitar tone...

my first heap was a 1959 Metropoliton my dad bought in San Diego... we were towing it back to Memphis and got caught in a sandstorm somewhere in the desert... lost most of the salmon colored paint... ruined the paint on Dad's old Buick Roadmaster too...

Great song bapu!  Nice work guys, lots of fun and fond memories. :)

I'm a little proud of it. Especially since it's a 100% true story.

Nice job Bapu (and friends!) . My first car was a '66 Chevelle SS396 with a 4-speed. Still got it after 25 years. It's up on blocks now though. Restoration project.

Thx Leadfoot
