Installing Sonar 2 XL

Hi there,

I am having a problem installing Sonar 2.0 XL on my new computer. It used to be on my old computer and that got a virus and had to be thrown out. Now when I try to install it on my new computer there is a problem, it seems to be trying to install the shared plugsins into the D drive and there is no option to change it, is this because you are only allowed to use Sonar on one computer and if so how do I solve it

Thanks

Try asking HERE. I don't think that many here on the Producer/Studio forums have XL. Or you could try calling tech support. It seems you have this problem with S3 too. It's strange because the install DVD doesn't store information on what drive the program was last installed on.

Sonar 2 XL is the second version of Sonar. It is the equivalent of Sonar Producer Edition.

To install it you may need to download the DX patch for the issue of the CD installer will check DX 8 and if you 9 or above it wont install. The patch will over come this.

Goto the Sonar support page and click on Sonar 2 to find and DL the patch.

Huh, I didn't know that. I just saw the Studio XL forums and thought it was a different program. Sorry OP. Thanks John.

Not to worry Chef. Sonar 3 was the first to have studio and producer designations.

Now as to all the other programs that CW offers I have no clue what they are or how they differ. Excepting Project 5.

The neat thing about Sonar 2 XL was it had the Timeworks plugins. Sonar 2 didn't.

Then again this forum is named for the Studio and Producer versions. When Sonar 2,XL was out it was a newsgroup.LOL So in a round about way this is the wrong forum. Or is it?

I've still got it on my machine, too. Just used it the other day, actually. It's not the only EQ I use, but it's a pretty cool plug, for sure.
