ORIGINAL: plainfaced

Im back to using a mouse now for mixing/tweaking... I got my Axiom49 transports work, but its just as quick pressing space bar, or using the mouse..
And tweaking synths.. Well I use envelopes and the synth rack.

Im over knobs and sliders..

I've got an Axiom 61, and I found it very easy to set up. All you have to do is select the ACT preset in Sonar, then set the preset on the keyboard to the one indicated (there are two options). Pretty simple. I only use the knobs and slider for fine adjustments on VSTs with small controls, though. I don't see the point of trying to use a controller to mix when the program is designed to be used with a mouse and keyboard.

I've often wondered myself what it is between Cakewalk and M-Audio. It seems to go way beyond capitalist competition. They seem to really hate each other. At best, they try to ignore that the other exists.

Did M-Audio steal Cakewalk's girlfriend, back in high school? Did Cakewalk ruin M-Audio's favorite shirt? It's like they're little children, refusing to cooperate, and we, the customers, are the ones who lose.

WTF does that mean? Cakewalk is not obligated to make any piece of hardware work with their software, especially when the reason is that the hardware itself is quirky. BTW, I have an Axiom 49 and it works just fine. But I did have to crack the manual once, though.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
