My 2 cents as a Hobbyist, non-professional user, this new interface rocks.  I have greatly increased my creativity and production in a matter of hours , moving from Sonar 8.3 Producer to x1.  This forum blows away any help I ever received from Pro Tools.  I called cakewalk last evening, and after being on hold for 30 seconds, the tech fixed 2 problems I had in the downloading of x1.  First, I received an error message "error loading guiBitmap"  because I still had a previous version of Rapture on my PC that was conflicting with the newer x1 rapture version...fixed.  Then I was not getting any templates upon opening a new project other than "normal".  After about 10 minutes, we discovered that my PC was set to compressed file and cakewalk doesn't read compressed files.  After uncompressing my hard drive, all the templates returned.

Nothing in life or software is perfect but I have to say, Cakewalk software and Technical service so far has been outstanding for me.  Additionally, this forum is outstanding, and even a newbie like me is treated with courtesy and respect.  What more can we ask.

My vote is YES!!! upgrade to X1!
