Is it possible to send/route duplicate midi data from one midi track to another?

Say if I wanted to play in one midi track and have it send duplicate midi information (like CC1, CC11 etc.) to three other midi tracks which can then be edited independently? So that I have one Master midi track and any changes I make in it's controller lane data updates in the other midi tracks. But then could idependently edit the duplicate midi data without affecting the Master Track data. Is that possible natively within Sonar?

I'm aware of input echo, but I'm talking about manipulating data, not just recording it the first time.

Thanks,
Mahlon

If I understand you correctly, try LOOPBE1.

(I'm using it in 8.5 producer on a windows 7 64 bit daw...)

Haven't tried that, but I don't think it's possible.  I think that would be one-way dynamic data linking, and you would have to have a means to identify which is the Master data and which is the Slave data, otherwise when you edited the Slave data the Master data would also update if they were linked bidirectionally.  Would be cool, but that's a pretty complex feature.

Possibly I'm not understanding what you are trying to acomplish, but couldn't you just record a midi track and then clone it for the other synths? That way you could map each one to the sound of your choice and as you make changes to one of your liking then just toss it away and clone the keeper.

Natively?  Manipulating data after the event you could just clone the track and use the filter to remove the data you don't want duplicated.  Instance clips across tracks that you want to inherit the same edits.

If you go the Virtual Midi Cable route this one trumps LoopBe1 by a very large factor.

And again for those not familiar with the capabilities of virtual midi routing here are some example setups.

None of it is any less 'native' than using a VST or a driver for your audio card.

Thanks for the help fellows. I'm going to try the virtual routing thing.

Drumr, yeah, that's what I'm doing now. I just thought there may be a way built into Sonar so there's not a lot of copying/deleting back and forth.
