I like it Charlie. Minor crit. To me, the rhythm guitars and the bass are *almost* fighting for the same EQ space. I know the bass is there but I wanted to hear just a bit more bite to either the bass or the rhythm guitars. Well Done Charlie.

Well Done Charlie. i agree, trust me if i could only get your bass sound in this song i would be delighted. im dont think its your bass it self as i know the bass you use is nothing short of awesome, but your ability to have the bass stand out in the mix is increadible. not to derail my own thread here but how do you do it ? may possibly be the thing i need to work on the most in my mixes but to you it comes so easy...jelous !!! :)

Yes the intelligibility of my posts is inversely proportional to the amount of "medication" in my system and the later it gets? The higher that percentage tends to become, so please disregard pretty much anything I say after 10PM. I'm thinking of getting a bratholizer for my PC that would prevent it from starting unless certain criteria are met..

Thanks for the smiles :)

eeewwwwwww.... beepster, cant wait to hear some new stuff from you too buddy. i know what you been doing lately though, absorbing. watching vid's,studying. i do the samething,i go through stages where its important to know easier ways to produce. thus freeing yourself from the technical side, leaving you to just do what you do best, write songs. im amazed at how much you know about sonar, its as if the coach gave you the ball and youve been scoring ever since.

Hiya, Chuck. I started writing a tune that will probably set the theme for an album a few weeks back. It's sounding pretty crazy but I needed to redeem the Groove3 pass before it expired and frankly I need to learn more about actual production stuff like creating proper mixes and how to use effects in way that makes some sense (instead of just fiddling with knobs like a monkey trying to drive a car). As far as the learning curve I probably have a bit of an advantage because I have a lot of free time. I used to work like a dog but once my body decided to gack out I lost my career (that's what I get for trying to be "responsible" lol). So now I treat Sonar like a job. I mess with it for as long as I can every day scouring the forum and various resource materials in the hopes I can get it to churn out pro quality stuff. I figure after this month with Groove3 is up I'm hoping I'll be more than capable of keeping up with the big dogs. I've got no lack of material to record. It's just trying to make it sound good enough to sell that I need to work on. With all the support I've gotten here and just being an OCD freak in general I should be able to start cranking out albums soon enough. Gotta pass the time somehow. Cheers and I'll try to send you some stuff to check out when it's ready. My true style is generally a little too raunchy and dark to post here and I already see my previously posted songs are getting pirated. lol
