Jack it up-

there is so much more mixing work to be done on this but you know what,im pretty happy with this as a fairly rough mix.
be prepared, its a burner..."its hard rock" with many sexual references.
Lyrics are on the soundcloud page for those interested.
also laid in some nice slide guitar parts in there if your into that jimmy page style.

Great production. The riffs remind me of true old school metal ala Priest. Cheers.

I like mixes that are raw and full of energy like this one.  The drums are really cookin' and drive this song.  This shows off your mixing and playing very well.  Bravo!

Good energy, performance (the vocals really sell it), and the mix sound good to me.  It does have a retro-metal touch to it.

That is really Priest-sounding. Really liked it.

The only thing I might think about doing is adding something else to the pre-chorus to distinguish it from the verses....maybe going up an octave on the bass or adding a discreet synth underneath.

Awesome job! Mix is crystal clear, and every word is audible. Your vocals are great, though at first I thought they might be too far back. However, by halfway through the tune I thought they were just fine. Guitar tone is really great! I'd suggest bringing up the BGV just a tad, and I like the synth suggestion.

    Regards,

Sounds pretty damn good to me! Mix wise it kind of reminds me of the band The Sword and their album Warp Riders, and that old-school metal guitar sound which you rarely hear these days. Good stuff.

Well, I am not going to say I like it. I do not like this style of music, it was always "rock lite" to me, even back in the 70's and 80's, IMO (I prefer Steppenwolf, Motorhead, Tool and Metallica). However you have this really interesting Ted Nugent guitar thing going on, with Alice Cooper styling and Wall of Voodoo vocals. A blend I would not have thought possible. However, I do gotta say, all you guys living in the past.. time to move forward. It is 2013, not 1979.

    Hey, Charlie,

Killer job on this dynamite sounding rocker!  Nice thick wall of guitars, great vocals and a clear, punchy, high energy rock mix.

Nice guitar tone and a tasty solo to boot, excellent job on this.  Great stuff, Charlie, have a good one! :)

There has been a huge resurgence in the popularity of old school hard rock/metal in the past decade. That's why all those old bands have been getting together for reunion tours as well as lots of new bands emulating that sound and improving on it. Besides... not all of us want to be the next Bieber.

Ha, you're a hard/metal rocker! Not what I expected.  I must say this is very well done on all levels. Great tone and performances. One thing I did notice was that I would have expected more of a screaming vocal with this style of music? Not that the vocals weren't excellent? Just again, not what I expected.
