Just got my new Steinberg UR44
I'm not use to this fuller sound yet. I am so use to Treble heavy or Bass heavy headphones. Got me some Audiotechnica m30x studio monitors. So I don't have any microphones to put in yet. I just use portable recorders so far. Will more inputs appear when I plug in microphones or does it mix it all down to one track/channel when I plug multiple mics in? edit: I see sonar reads multiple devices although my windows only sees one. Got my Sonar set to ASIO.

You should be seeing 6 outputs as 3 pairs. I know that the hardware outs were hidden the way I view Sonar so I had to change the layout to see them. There's also the software mixer that shows 6 in and 6 out. The manual is your best friend at this point but I'm sure you'll love it.

Congrats on getting the UR44! They released some updated drivers recently so check that out (Windows 10 included). It have been great for my use in DAWS and also to let me jam with YouTube videos as I mix my live acoustic or electric guitars in with the online sound. This works great and the UR44 really does a good job of it with the EFX it offers latency free. I also like being able to use the additional outputs for re-amping or dedicated headphone cue mix. Enjoy!

I just got a UR44, but it is a backup for my main recording interface unit. The UR44 installed without problems in Win 10 using the latest driver from the Steinberg site. I did have problems with activating the included extra software. See my thread on this: http://forum.cakewalk.com...l-Fiasco-m3328706.aspx

Yeah I got 3 outputs and 3 input devices in Sonar so I assume everything is set up correctly. Only thing I was saying is that it's only one device in the windows mixer. I was wondering if there's any potential of using this device outside of a DAW is all.

As I noted in my thread above, it does work with Windows (outside of the DAW). That is how I can jam along to YouTube while I use the UR44's EFX - all live.

If you want to work stand alone then use the software mixer app. You get console apps, 3 amp sims and 3 reverbs all supported by hardware dsp.
