Made me remember a visit to Borat's village in Romania. They never filmed in Kazakhstan. The village is called Glod (which is Romanian for "mud") and situated nearby Vlad Dracul's town of Targoviste, where I had to speak at a university conference. As Fleer pointed out ....kontakt update would be a must , those tiny script are starting to be a deal breaker .... The thing is that if the upgrade kontakt , they have to take in consideration alĺ the scripts written around .... I guess this is why it s not happening anytime sooon ...

Back to Komplete. I would like to see them have a sepperat engine for their drum products. U could do some fun stuff sharing effects and kit pieces. One thing you can do is copy the midi for Studio Drummer or any of the Abbey Roads into another ones midi so you could open up AR 60's and the midi for any of the others can be in your browser.

Cant buy Komplete 10 standard full licence in Australia atm, the supplier I ordered it from contacted me and said they are out of stock and their supplier will not be getting anymore stock.
I did a ring arround other suppliers, and was same story, can only get crossgrades or ulimate, no backorders. Dont know if that means its being replace with Komplete 11, or if the product is simply not available until from the distributors until after the sale, and of course nobody in the stores could answer that.
So I have taken the plunge, dived deep into my wallet, and got a deal on the Ultimate Crossgrade and a Maschine MKII.
Thankyou for your advice Bassdaddy, the bundle I am getting definitely has no Bulgarian Groin Harps included

Lol, you wouldn't use it that much anyway. You will love Ultimate. Pay some special attention to the 12 or so effects. They don't get the conversation they should. Underated IMHO.

I use the Heavyocity plugins from Ultimate and that's pretty much it. All the other ones are mediocre at best, IMO. I got my KU pretty cheap though so can't complain too much.

Great effects indeed, many by Softube. Also check Session Horns and Session Strings. And sweet Alicia's Keys of course.

Ok I see Drumlab as part of K10 but not Razor. At least not under the NI page for non ultimate.
I left off Strummed Acoustic and Kinetic Metal. [and Replika for those who missed it as a Christmas gift two years ago]

If the above details are true, I'm in two minds whether to upgrade or not. There seems to be less benefit to the upgrade from 10 to 11 than I got from upgrading from 9 to 10.

They Symphony Series and Emotive strings are good
additions for the upgrade...
Plus Forms, Strummed Acoustic, Una Cora, India, Flesh and the
upgrade to Reaktor 6...

Reactor 6 is the only thing that would make me upgrade, the only other thing of interest to me in that list is the woodwind stuff, and that looks like its going to be a cut down version.
Does anybody own the full symphony series woodwind bundle from NI? I need a good woodwind collection, but are very wary of NI and their marketing system

I was hoping they would upgrade the electric pianos. They did such a good job with the acoustics. As Lars said, "That's not bad value...but not until the half off upgrade sale..." My strategy remains. Get Una Chorda half off in November upgrade Ultimate when it's half off. Sell Una Chorda. The perceived value could get adjusted upward if the lite Symphony stuff is pretty nifty.

I resisted the urge to buy it on this latest sale as well. I thought I wanted Komplete Ultimate, but I mostly need orchestral sounds which are sadly lacking. It doesn't make sense to me to spend $700 just to get Kontakt and a bunch of stuff I don't need, and then turn around and buy another $1000+ worth of libraries to get the sounds I want. I'm thinking I should just save up and buy the Berlin series, and use the free Kontakt player.

If a sale comes up for K11 Full I might bite. I resisted the K10 sales as I know I wouldn't be happy until I upgraded to current. Yes, it's a disease.
$599 for K11 Full is on par with buying K10 + K11 upgrade, so any K11 sale should do the trick.

NI has sales once or twice a year, so once this happens (I'm guessing Thanksgiving) I will probably upgrade, it does seem like a decent, if not spectacular update. Una corda itself interests me, as do the symphony updates (I suspect they are teasers to compel a full update), which I suppose could lead me to get the full versions if they, too go on sale next year. No rush for me, and no extra cash, either.

So thats 1552 AUD worth of value plus god only knows how much AUD for the symphony essentials
It is good value for me, but since the only things I want from NI at the moment, and I say want, not need, are the following cross grades, Reaktor 6 @ 159 AUD and the Woodwind Collection @ 439 AUD, and since I would still need to buy the Woodwind Collection anyway, I would effectively be spending 599 AUD to get 159 AUD worth of product.
Think I will be joining the lets wait for the half off upgrade special group!

I may just get the Kontakt upgrade, but it sounds like it's upgrades for library developers. Perhaps I should wait for V 6.0. I don't ever recall paying for a point release.

uh, don't hld your breath for that. generally a major point release is a cross grade upgrade price. similar to Reactor 6 release. trust me Kontakt 6 will be a paid release / upgrade pricing. it's NI's bread and butter, it's what makes them the most money. I will wait til Komplete 12 if it's released in that.
