Komplete Ultimate Preview

Someone found this preview image, seems to have a light version of NI Symphony?

Those are Action Strikes and Action Strings with the Sheet Music up...
Nothing look like any of the Symphony Series...

Those "one knob" things, one says "Woodwind Enseble"...with "one knob"?

Unfortunately, there are a lot of things in that picture which aren't quite clear.  Also we don't know about the standard version of Komplete 11 either.  However, if images have been released to retailers, it can't be too long.

they held back the new reaktor to force us to buy it, thats how it feels...
so I might skip this version unless it's a decent upgrade.

got burned with NI before with kore , so I don't trust em overly .. vs other vendors

All those one knob things seem to have the names of the symphonic stuff NI has been recording. Some clever folk think it is white while the full version is dark to indicate a 'light' version. Some think the upper left thing is a new guitar rig.

I think it is GR5.  If it were a new version, they would have put out an image with some new components.  It looks like Fast Compressor, Soldano, Control Room Pro, Stereo Detune.

Thanks for setting me straight there guys.

If they actually include even a reasonable version of the new symphony stuff it will be tempting. I have KU 9 and I think you can upgrade from one or two versions back for relatively not a lot especially if they do an upgrade sale.

Yep, not bad, but I'm good with K10U until the summer of 2017 when upgrades are half off.

Those one knobs are definitely the NI symphonic libraries in one form or another. My guess is they are scaled back versions of the full releases, but I'm just speculating. I'm on K9U still, so this update may be worth it this time around, but I won't decide until the official announcement. I see Una Corda in there, so that's quite tempting. Also, if Kontakt 6 is released, that would almost definitely seal the deal for me.

I dont have Komplete, and are feeling like the odd person out!
Should I succumb to peer group pressure, is it worth it! or should I resist the tempation?
If next version has woodwind and reaktor 6, I may even have need of it!
I am betting on a realease for 11 next month, after seeing indictions of price rises on NI products next month while shopping for a midi keyboard.
My head hurts, its all too much, think I will go get a chai latte!

If they actually have decent orchestral stuff, It seems like a great package. Of course that might just be in Ultimate. In the old daze it was excellent for synths, drums / percussion, bass, effects, electric keyboards and pop strings / brass. Of course Kontakt and Reaktor let you into whole worlds of 3rd party instruments. The pianos, guitars and orchestral stuff were weak. From what I understand the new pianos in K10 are very nice, the new acoustic guitar seems good. If they have added quality classical strings / brass / woodwinds then I don't see many real weaknesses in the package. I think one weakness would be a good electric guitar anyone else think of any?

Maybe a new full blown synth
And upgrade that old guitar thing, as well as of Kontakt, of course.

The only things in there I don't recognize from Ultimate 10, apart from the "one knob" things, are some Indian percussion, an Una Corda piano, Tim Exile's "Flesh" (for drums) and an acoustic guitar. Oh and Reaktor 6 I guess.

11 must be on the way soon. They have had the others on sale for a couple months now haven't they? I'm thinking Una Chorda at Christmas half off for $49.00 then sell it next summer in time for 11U upgrade half off.

The Indian percussion thing is the offering called India. I happened to have that one. I can't say I've used it yet on a song, but the sounds are really nice and I'm glad I have it. I'd like to use it when it can contribute to a song in a creative way. I like it.

It does look right up my alley that thing. I love anything that takes some kind of raw material and turns it into something new. To this end I have hours and hours of fun with Resochord, one of the most underrated ensembles in the Reaktor factory library. It takes an audio input, usually something percussive, and uses it via an envelope follower to resonate 6 virtual "strings" the pitches of which you can control with a MIDI input. So you can feed it a drum track and your MIDI notes and you'll be playing these strings to the rhythm of the drum track. You can get some really unique stereo sounds out of it. This Flesh thing looks like this idea taken to the next level.

Well I decided to take the plunge and get the Komplete 10 boxed version, I need Kontakt 4 or greater for some sound libraries, and at the moment Kontakt 5 cost $200AUD less than Komplete 10 standard retail full version in Australia.

Komplete 11 can wait until an upgrade sale! that is if its worth the upgrade (Reaktor 6 and decent amount of woodwinds), I would not of even got this version if not needing Kontakt 5, I would of been much happier spending money on Omnisphere 2 or some nice hardware.

On a side note, NI must be making a killing, most places I tried had sold out, some even have it taken of their websites, leaving crossgrades/upgrades and ultimate available.  Or mabye they just clearing old stock for next version!

Good decision, Siluroo. You'll have lots to play with until the upgrade to 11 goes half off, at the earliest during the summer of '17.
