Rain ohgrant Wish I had the $250 I would go for it, I just sold a kidney to get a Duende DSP card for about the same price. Turns out DSP cards are habbit forming for those with nerd tendencies. Say What?!!! Duende for $250? It'd be a crime to pass on that one. No it was $267 and I couldn't pass, it's on the way.

cclarry ohgrant cclarry Thanx Grant... Most I'm looking to make a killing on these... Right now the VTM is being sold at $250 WITH or WITHOUT the Ilok.... you'd be stupid to buy the one without....get the one with and SELL the Ilok if you already have one and get some money back...(obviously to get the download and get INSTANT grat) I don't know WHY they would do that....pretty DUMB! But hey....no one said Corporations were intelligent...neither are we as they suck our wallets dry for stuff that we already used to have and got rid of when "digital" became the "in" thing.. We paid to get OUT of analogue,,,now we pay to get BACK IN....go figure.. Wish I had the $250 I would go for it, I just sold a kidney to get a Duende DSP card for about the same price. Turns out DSP cards are habbit forming for those with nerd tendencies. You can bet your bippy that it will be on SALE soon! After all the "gotta havers" have plunked down full price.. there will be a half off sale....always happens...and THAT is when I'll get it...LOL I'm sure I will eventually get it for that or less when the next latest and great come out. Hope you get your licence soon have fun

Ok.. Kramer Master Tape is one SWEET looking plugin.... But when I load it....BANG...CPU usage doubles.... WOW...that's pretty intense... I can load a bazillion other programs....and it's all good.. one instance of KMT and it's the kiss of death... Anyone else experienced this?

Nothing out of the ordinary, just the nature of the beast. I usually run 5-6 instances in a 40 track audio project.

I did just raise the plug-in buffers, but haven't tried it again since... I'll check it later.. I have a band meeting at 6

cclarry Is VTM that CPU intensive? Anyone, anyone, Bueller? Well the 64 bit might make all the difference but I was able to run several instances of the 32 bit even on my old P4 3.2. Perhaps try to raise your buffer?

I'm using it on a 2010 Macbook Pro - far from cutting edge. Not particularly cpu hungry (Waves plug-ins are usually pretty well optimized). I often put an instance on the drums buss early in the project while I'm still tracking - meaning that my buffers are either set at 32 or 64 and I'm adding amp sims and other plug-ins/instruments as I go. That's in 32 bit mode - same in Logic, Pro Tools and Studio One. Something doesn't seem right - you shouldn't see such a bump in the CPU usage.

Well you would think that the 64 bit version would be far less CPU intensive then the 32 bit version....more memory to utilize... It might be a PC to Mac difference in coding... All I can say is WOW....I wouldn't have bought it if I had known that.... I haven't tried again since upping the buffer count...

Ok....regarding Kramer Master Tape....all I can say again is WOW.. What a GREAT plug... If VTM is better then that I'll surely be buying it... The HLS Channel is nice... Haven't had a piece of PIE yet.. The Native Power Pack plugs definitely are quite impressive... I'm especially fond of the S-1...that's going to be VERY useful! Good investment....
