My Roland kit didn't come with a kick drum pedal. I had to buy my own. I bought a nice, DW 3000 dual chain, double kick pedal for only $200. Here it is...check it out.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/drums-percussion/dw-3000-series-double-kick-drum-pedal

Thats sounds great Scotty , I'll check it out . I'm surprise you buy from them
they charge you tax on everything and their packing of products you buy
fall apart before they get to you atlease mine did .
I buy all my music gear now and have been for years from SweetWater , in
my opinion their the best ! They pack the products you buy perfectly and
they arrive as promised and in perfect shape .

I plan on buying a real kick pedal and adding the standard kick pad to this
entry level kit I bought to trigger my drum software kit sounds .
I can't play like I used to play because of the kick pedal that came with this
drum kit but for now I'll just have to deal with it .
In June I will buy the upgraded standard real kick pad & pedal and there
will be a big difference in how I play and sound .

I could buy it now but I'm buying my guitar , Amp and case first while that
is on sale saving me alot of money on that decent guitar I finally picked out .

          Thanks for sharing !
James

I bought mine from my local music store.

Thats the best way , if you know the sales people and they know and like you
you'll always end up with good deals .
Back when I was buying all my acoustic drum sets I bought from two music stores
one in Tampa and the other one the largest music store in the U.S. located in
          in ClearWater Florida .
They like me as a drummer and most of the time ended up getting good deals
whenever I did buy a new drum set or other musical gear for my drum set .
But that was back when I played all the time and had been for years , with
SweetWater their always nice to me when I call and talk to them and buy
from them . I'm sure their that way with other buyers as well , our city here
where I live doesn't have a good music store. Its ok but nothing like Sam Ash
and now SweetWater but when I move to Nashville , TN I bet they will have
          some nice music stores .

Beats sound all off, especially the clap.

YOUR OFF , DON'T NEED YOUR OFF THE WALL COMMENTS !

What a complete and obnoxious little clown you are. You ask "how does this kit sound to you?", I answer, and you go ballistic. I would feel sorry for you if you weren't such a jerk about everything.

Go away, James. You add nothing to this forum other than your utter narcissism and pathetic self-regard.

NO I WON'T LEAVE THIS FORUM JAMES YO YO , what you need to do is stay out of my posted thread and mine your own business . As a REMINDER I also
spent over $500.00 on CakeWak products , THIS IS A CAKEWALK FORUM and
the song forum here is part of THIS FORUM !

Your the one who is trying to get me to leave this forum by getting others here
into your camp , keep being a total JERK its not hurting me at all !
The kit is only triggering sounds from my Addictive drum software , you not
hearing drums sounds from this kit !

PLEASE just stay out of my posted songs I post , I don't need to listen to
anything you have to say period BULLY !

I believe that since this is an open forum I am free to post anywhere and everywhere I wish. I don't talk to anyone else about you, nor do I need to wage a campaign to get you to leave. Peoples' opinions of you are fully formed and do not require my input. I simply asked you to leave, since you add next to nothing to the forum but dyspeptic rants and odd remarks about your purchasing habits.

BTW: the drums certainly do sound off time, and that, my hyper-ventilating friend, is because of your sloppy playing and wandering meter, not due to Addictive Drums nor your cheap e-drums. And I believe that is what you asked for comments about, nimrod.

Carry on.

said my drumming was perfect , I'm not bragging I'm trying to get back into
drumming again so I can play like I did back in the 90's and back then I played

I like it - something going on with the timing of this tune - doesn't sound like the drums are lined up properly. Other than that - very cool.

I like the tune, good keyboard and bass parts, but as you must already know the timing of the drums is all over the place.
If you are triggering from an electronic drum, why don't you record midi and then Quantise it in sonar?
Just an idea.

Thanks Mark , maybe your right and it could be another issue , you see before I
played and added my own drum track I already had this loop percusion track in
the mix . Maybe thats what your hearing and that could be making everything
sound off beat or out of time .

What I can do is delete that percusion track and see if that fixes the issue , if
not then I will play my drums to my music without that percusion track .

By the way I'm almost done adding drums to your song , I think you'll like it
when you listen to it .
I will try to finish it tommorrow and then work on this song again , thanks for
           being nice about it .

Thanks for the comments , I'll see if I can't fix the problem that might not even
have anything to do with the way I played . It could be that Loop Percusion track
making it sound out of time .

          Thanks -James

So two guys in a row said exactly the same thing I originally said, so is there any particular reason you didn't go all apesh!t on them?

Or do you just have it in for me? I am calling Mom!

From the sounds of it, he is on his last legs and might drop any moment now, and we would not want to be responsible for his head exploding prematurely or something. I for one do not want to clean up THAT mess. Well.. actually.. thinking about it... if his head exploded... there would not actually BE much mess would there?

Anyway James, the constructive feedback you got has hopefully pointed you in the right direction. With MIDI, there is very little reason for there to be timing errors. You should accept that without resorting to such extreme negativity all the time. I know you can't, it is not in your nature, but it would be nice if you perhaps ... tried. I am not being sarcastic right now James. I believe you have a decent enough ability with music, and with a little more effort, you would achieve the results and commendation you desire.

Well I thank you for your feedback , to be honest with you this going back in forth
is a waste of time when all of us me included could be working on music in some
created way instead of trashing each other for personal gain or for whatever
          reason .
I'm not perfect at creating music but over the past six years I have to say I have
greatly improved from where I first started out using Music Creator 3 .
I made a mistake over 13 years ago when I stop playing back in the 90's , back
I was much younger , I played ten times better so for me restarting again will
take some time and I expected that .

I think the next time maybe tommorrow evening when I repost it those issues
will be fixed after I replay it once more and without that Percusion loop track
added to the song when it was first created .

See what happens tommorrow - James

          Anyway

But you have also said earlier, that it will only take you a year to learn the geetar from scratch.  How does that work?

Have you got your new guitar yet?
How are doing with that?
'C' is a good one to start with, the 'F' goes with that, and then 'G'
Then see if you can add 'G7'

The way I figure it I will be guitar pickin in my sleep , I sort have a plan of action ready to start once my guitar arrives by UPS from SweetWater .
I'm buying this good music book from this local music store down the street ,
its title EASY ROAD MAP TO PLAYING SCALES or something like that . It looks like an easy to understand guitar scale book , I will spend most of my time learning scales and trying to get my hands and fingers working where I will
be able to play scales with ease , thats the plan .
Also while focusing on scales I will be working with all the basic chords and
hopefully I will be able to work with some harder to play chords too .

Have you got your new guitar yet?
How are doing with that?
'C' is a good one to start with, the 'F' goes with that, and then 'G'
Then see if you can add 'G7'

Don't have my guitar , Amp and case yet but its being held for me right
now . This coming friday I will be calling him and paying him , my funds won't
be available untill friday . Today is thursday so one more day and I pay them .
After that I will be broke for the next two months because of this purchase .
I'll spend the next two months giving back to my wife for helping me out with this guitar purchase helping her buy the things she wants to buy but hey
atlease I can get started learning how to play the guitar .

In June I plan on buying a new standard KICK PAD & KICK PEDAL , dump this
thing that came with this drum kit . I can't get the right amount of bass pedal
action using this one unit kick pedal that has the bass drum pad built into the
pedal . Its a not easy to work with , I find myself trying to push down too hard
and that messes up my timing when trying to play correctly and when playing fills . I'm starting to get used to it but its still junk to work with , better then
nothing I guess .

Peace

its better, much better with out the tam. in it.
i know your just getting back in to playing so i understand its going to take a while to get back to the feel of playing as well.
the beats in this song are there, its the rolls, sometimes in the rolls it falls off time just enough so you feel it.
the music is really cool in this song, did you write all these piano parts yourself?
its a catchy piece of music.

i would highlight this whole drum track and press Q
thats for quantize james.get these midi notes sitting perfectly where they belong man.

You think that you will be able to learn to play the guitar properly in a year, without any lessons or coaching, from a book of scales?  Good luck with that!  I am certainly not an expert player, but I have been playing for 40 years, taught for a while when I was young, and played in a band. I can tell you that learning the various aspects of playing the guitar takes time, patience, experience and also collaboration with other players - this is very important in developing techniques.  Unless you just want to play published notes in a robotic style.

Thanks for the listen and comments , yea my fills are a bit slow mainly because
of this dang kick pedal . I use my kick pedal alot when playing fills and with
this cheezy kick pedal its very hard to play those bass drum beats I used to play using a standard kick pedal but I'm dealing with it the best I can with
what this kit .
I know when I get around to buying a good kick pedal with a new kick pad
your going to notice a big difference in my playing .
Anyway thanks , I might replay it one more time and work on smoothing out
my fills or atlease try .

As for the piano yes I created it and played everything , thanks .

Hey all I can do is try my best to play the guitar , anything is possible if you
put your heart into it and spend countless hours working at it .
I played with a guy who played for one year and sounded like he had been playing for ten years . I couldn't believe how good he was after he told me he
had only been playing for a year , thats what you call a god gifted talent .

So yes anything is possible , I'll be happy if I can add some simple lead to my music by the end of this year .
Maybe in five year with a years worth of lessons I will be good in five years , I
do plan on taking a years worth of lessons starting in 2014 .
I don't want to spend $100.00 a month for guitar lessons this year because in Nov of this year I plan on buying a Rolands drum kit , a good electronic drum kit . This one I'm using now is getting me back into playing again while I save
for a better drum kit to play on and record with .

I like this tune. It's mysterious.

You've never had trouble playing drums until you play one where the kick keeps sliding away everytime you kick it. lol!!! Can you use any pedal with it? Get a Ghost!!! My buddy had one and it was so unreal. I couldn't keep the thing from bouncing. Every hit sounded like it had a delay. lol! Of course I always used the pedal wrong. I bounced my foot on the front rather than resting the back down and pushing the front down. At least I didn't use the Magilla Gorilla method. LOL!

Nice tunage!!!

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

I'm pretty sure James is actually Bobby? One of his many fractured/alternate personalities? Or maybe Bobby is actually James? I just hope he/they doesn't/don't go "criminally" insane... And please don't get me wrong? I understand "and embrace" my many clinically diagnosed "anomalies?" Trust me, I don't count myself among "the normal?" However, even I can spot a bad apple in the barrel? Even through a jaundiced eye?

It does need more Harpsichord though? Much more... Even though he will use this to bounce his shiz... (which I refuse to listen to?)
